Trash Thrown, Trash Conference

I was there in 94 when they gave students an extra ticket so we could bring a guest against Arizona. Tickets were upper East and they tried to kill us with fireworks at halftime.

I was in the south endzone student section when we (certainly not me though, for legal reasons) threw water bottles, etc. a couple of times from 02-06. Now students look bored or don't bother to show.

Our own Beej67 threw a water bottle from the upper west and almost hit a referee when he called a PF on Adam Gotsis, giving ND a 1st down and the game. 2006, iirc.

That was the year but the PF (I believe) was either Wheeler or Guyton. Awful call.

Please explain. I love Tech history

Back in the mid-80's, sometime between '84-'86 they had "Al Ciraldo Day" to celebrate his 100th anniversary or something like that. Anyway, they gave out these big buttons that you could pin on that were popular back then. These were big, probably 3"+ in diameter which were perfect for throwing like you were skimming a stone across a lake. Anyhow, the student sections were in lower and upper east and rest is history. It was easy to reach the field with either the pin stored or deployed (armed).

That was Wheeler. Gotsis call was against UNC in 2015. Guyton was clipped in the '05 mutts game on the play they ran the punt back to our 40 that set up their winning TD.
