Trends for past BCS champions

This article I just read on ESPN was somewhat interesting. The title is very misleading. It talks about the charachteristics of the past BCS champtions. We made it into a group of 17 elite teams, but we missed the final cut because we don't have six returning defensive starters from a unit that ranked in the top 20 in scoring defense in the previous season.

Conclusion: we are in a very good position coming into this season and then main question is our defense (I know this is something most of your on these boards already know).
