Trigger Warning: Nick Chub Injury

That's disgusting. Minimum one year suspension. Deliberate attempt to injure.

Joe Theisman flashbacks. knees not meant to bend that way.

When i played back in the "dark ages" we were taught to use your helmet "stick'em"! Now you have to be so careful in a tackle. What seems to be a good hit now is more likely gonna get you penalized. Yeah, i understand the reasons behind it but it is such a fine line to be aware of.

Just remember when you talk about “how hard it is to tackle these days” you’re defending Minkah Fitzpatrick. Who went low on a guy who was on his way down with someone on his back. The dude is a complete ööööhead.
It wasn’t dirty. He assisted in bringing a big back down that was bowling to the goal line. Injuries are part of the game.

Found the guy who is teaching our GT defense how to tackle. Explains a lot.

The way he chose to tackle the player is completely illegal for blocking offensive players and usually something that gets defenders pretty angry. You don’t have to come in as low as he did.

But it is legal for a defender inside the tackle box on a ball carrier. Hit Chub higher and he continues to rumble up field.

I never said the hit was against the rules. I just said that it was extremely dirty and unnecessary. You’re right. In the mind of the player who has no regard for the safety of his opponent and has a track record of reckless and injury causing hits, it is completely fine. I tend to PLAY GAMES differently. But i guess when you’re a Steeler you just know it means more and you’re really giving it your all for the good of the game.

Any team that teaches their players to approach tackles like this will get its offensive players destroyed on a routine basis.

A defender who doesn’t cut the legs there doesn’t make it to the NFL or they don’t stay long.

Head hunting was once legal, it didn’t make Ronnie Lott dirty. It was just part of the game.
