Trucks for Buckeyes

So who is the person getting the used Ford in the photo from the Chevy dealership? Must be a second stringer

I wonder if they get the vehicle outright; or if it’s a 6 or 12 month paid lease

"will all receive a ride for the 2021 season"

just like the yearly scholarships!

It's not clear if it's just for the Fall or longer term. Either way, free stuff...

Was it Terelle Pryor that got caught with a car awhile back?

And free tattoos.

He was allowed to play in the Rose Bowl and they suspended him for the first 5 games of the following season: Akron, Wisconsin, Indiana, Purdue, Penn State. It was a gross example of NCAA favoritism toward revenue over fairness/consistency.

Apologize for not completely understanding how NIL works, but imagining a GT NIL program the other day:

A bank partnered with a marketing agency. Bank raises money to fund marketing activities and to disburse money to GT athletes. Our athletes license their NIL to the bank and immediately draw licensing royalties, analogous to pre-paid royalties on a book deal (for example). Bank hires the partner agency to go get NIL deals.

Those of us who believe the NIL market is lucrative, could invest in the bank and receive dividends. Maybe like an LP, similar to a VC fund. The money stays in for 10 years before dissolving to raise another fund. Athletes get their up front, plus bonuses based on their personal NIL marketing success.

Overhead might eat the thing alive - maybe ok and the LPs get nothing back after 10 years, other than the satisfaction of paying our players in an organized methodical manner. Alums can invest in the bank, and/or license an NIL. Maybe a GT alum firm (Waffle House) buys non exclusive NIL license for whole team. Maybe alum money starts going straight to players vs to GTAA.

I’ll stop here. If a dummy like me is thinking about this imagine what is happening out there now. Just quickly found this, Bring back da U:

"We have created the NIL-backed option-swap margin credit security market. We accept cryptocurrency."

This going to get of hand. Now just imagine what the other 38 on the two deep are going to feel like with all their off season work and contribution to the team's success but get no NIL goodies. NCAA had screwed it all up!

This is big part of why rock bands don’t last, issues splitting song writing royalties. Partly why my imaginary GT-NIL Fund pays everyone something and does at least some whole team NIL licensing deals. In some ways the factories could have it worse with millionaire prima donnas telling coaches how it is.
Interesting to imagine a shift in the flow of money, going directly to players and away from coaches and facilities.

There are haves and have not on every roster; and its been that way forever:
  1. Rich kids and poor kids
  2. Guys thay slay puss; and guys that dont
  3. Guys that play and guys that dont

This doesnt drastically change anything related to locker room jealously
