Trustee getting ready to pull the plug on Bowden...

Does this help to set up the "win one for the old man" scenario this week?
Or does it create a distraction for the players, Jimbo, Mickey, and Amato as they plot their future moves?

I think IF WE punch them in the mouth early (like Miami last year) they will fold. If it is close in 2nd half it could go the other way.

But this is Monday and it is possible this situation will get WORSE with no resolution for F$U by saturday that could lead to complete disarray.

I think there's going to be a million "scenarios" every week we play that could cause us to lose. Losing streak, winning streak, hot coach, coach about to be fired, too little rest, too much rest(rusty), best OL we'll face, best DL we'll face, hex of not winning there in a long time, getting fat off our earlier win, getting fat literally, too much good media attention, too much negative media attention for the other team....well, you get the point.

EDIT: How could I forget the jersey colors? The true knell of death.

I think that FSU has more to prove than we do. I mean, we can't lose another ACC matchup because we want the ACC title, and we've gained a lot of momentum after the past two games.

FSU is fighting for their coach, who may be retiring especially if its a dismal season, and they're fighting for respect... at home... in front of their disgruntled fans... at night... on ESPN... with black jerseys? ha. I've brought that up several times, and I know that the jersey color doesn't decide a game (UGA/Alabama, FSU/BC, Penn State/Iowa) but I think that if they come out in the black jerseys, that's a statement to us, that they're ready to play... something we often are not prepared enough to do...

I've got confidence, I just hope they don't do us like BYU... At best, with our poor defense, maybe we can have a close bout like the FSU/Miami matchup...

For the record, Penn State doesn't change jerseys for their white outs...

I hope this situation gets worse before it gets better this week. Someone want to start emailing Heather Dinich with stories about Chuck Amato interviewing for other jobs?

I doubt they'll come out in black, I'm pretty sure they whited out USF and didn't like the results. They'll probably wait a while longer to bring out the different colored jerseys.

Factually, you may be correct, that FSU has more to prove this week than Georgia Tech. But as the saying goes, perception is reality---and I think CPJ is the grand master of creating perceptions and convincing his players that they have something to prove and that the ideal proving grounds (for this particular week anyway:laugher:) is Doak Campbell Stadium with the world watching.

If we play our game, we win. Plain and simple. Like Dems said in the other thread, our biggest improvement on offense is that we are converting 3rd downs. If we can keep that up like we have for the past two games, it will be very tough to beat our team.

Any distractions during the time they have to prepare for our offense is a good thing, imo.
