Miami is wasting no time on this.
Gailey interviewed Friday and others on Thursday and thru the weekend. Credit to Miami for moving so fast (so far so good).
Based on their past relationship, both Gailey and Miami should know by now if this is a match made in heaven. If it is, Gailey's agent should be able to reach an agreement in 24 hours.
Either way, Dan R. needs to know so he can kick Tech's search into high gear. We don't need to go late into January without knowing who our head coach is going to be. God help us if our search drags into February.
I'm hope Gailey would not want to screw us on both the front end (when he left Miami with an extended notice) and on the back end with a long, drawn out contract negotiation (or extended interview cycles with other NFL teams if Miami doesn’t work out) at this time of year.
IF, Gailey hops on another bus, say to Pittsburg for an interview, Dan R. should announce we are beginning our search immediately.
