Does anyone think that U(sic)GA's recruiting classes are constantly overrated? I was looking at their recruits and commitments on Scout and noticed how high some of them are now after they were pretty low for quite a while. I'm not saying they haven't pulled in good athletes, but it seems kind of fishy that when they go after certain recruits their ratings skyrocket, while ours either go down or up ever-so-slightly. I'm sure it won't matter in the end because I believe in the way we recruit and develop, but I just found it very interesting. Have any thoughts?
 
Well the first mistake you made was using Scout. Even as bad as recruiting rankings are Scout is just plain scam. Rivals at least doesn't screw around with player ratings depending on who they pick (as often).

You must not have read the article about the highschool coach who proved he could manipulate the Rivals rankings. It was pretty damning on Rivals. Scout has some serious jackasses though who wouldn't know **** about how to evaluate a player.

All you have to do is look at these guys oogle over a player like Mack Brown. Most overhyped player I have seen in a long long time.

It doesn't matter what service you look at, ugag always rates pretty highly. Suggesting that either service is better is silly...they're both just set up to make money.
 
I don't know what ya'll are talking about, Caleb King is the (stuff). He totally deserves all 5 of those stars.
 
They're recruiting is overrated. That, or Richt is just that bad of a coach. I don't understand how you get talent like that and not win a MNC.

There is a lot more envolved than just talent and coaching in winning a championship. Although they are 2 good areas to start toward that goal.

Any coach or site publisher can manipulate the rankings if they really wanted. Its all about exposure, film, and making themselves available at all times..
 
why anyone subscribes to that crap, both online services and printed grocery store rags, is beyond me. Anyone really believe that any of those guys have the inside scoop on what PJ or Giff are thinking much less them telling someone what they are thinking? Basing stars on how many "offers" received seems flawed to begin with.

No bias working there huh? They are both just opinions so neither is right or wrong. Who is better is in the eye of the beholder.
