UCF to Big East

How long until Central Florida bails on the Big East to drop down to Division II?

I really do not think Big East will be able to keep its AQ status. If you give it to them, you also need to give it to the Mtn West and Conf-USA...not much difference between the three.
I cannot see Notre Dame staying in Big East for non-football sports any longer either.
By fall of 2012 I hope that this all is settled.

The current BCS contract runs for 3 more seasons including the current one and guarantees a BCS game for Big East, so it's not going anywhere until a new BCS contract is negotiated.

Results from 2008-2011 will be used to check for automatic qualification (AQ) for the non-AQ conferences for the next two years. I wonder if MWC is getting close to being AQ, but doubt it with the loss of Utah, TCU and BYU.

The BCS will be no more after 3 years. IMO, that's the timing driving the move to super conferences today. The lay of the land will be set before the BCS contract expires. A new playoff system will be employed by the super conferences and hopefully the NCAA will cease to exist.

Sounds about right.
