To be fair, if you're going to use Joe's DUI/Hit and Run (all one incident, by the way), you should also include the former UGA player who is implicated in a murder in south Georgia.

How much longer will it be until hitting on a girl is considered sexual assault? I guess the good ole days of smacking a girl on the ass (or stomach) without worrying about being arrested for battery are long gone! Common sense loses again.
 
MaconGT, I do not agree with the battery part--but as long as I have lived, smacking a girl on the ass (never smacked a girl on the belly--never really thought about that--and not sure why you would) would get you slapped so quickly--and if she had brothers, you better hope you were bigger than them. So I am not sure smacking a girl on the ass has EVER been one of those good ole days -- but I am only 40. Maybe GTL can remember those days.

Was not truly meant as a burn. Was meant to reflect maybe one of our more senior members might remember days of this -- although I truly doubt even they could remember a time when this was appropriate. I picked GTL's name from random -- as I did not do a search on this board for the oldest poster. If GTL took offense, I apologize.

But my belief still stands. I do not remember any time when slapping a girl on the ass (without implied permission) was ever appropriate. If my father had ever seen me do this, I would be out in the backyard picking out the switch to be used on me. (To me, that was the worst part of the punishment--actually picking out your own switch--always decided in the end that that must have been the wrong switch! )
