UGAG Game Time

I cannot remember a 3:30 kickoff against the Mutts in Atlanta. Maybe it's a good omen.

1997: Traditional 1pm
..

Nope. This one ended under the lights. Could have been a 3:30 kick.
My memory for names is gone but our big fullback Ed Wilder (I think) put us ahead with about a minute left.

On the ensuing KO, we kicked it out of bounds and they killed us in the south EZ after the phantom PI call. Worst call in my lifetime.

Either 12:00 or 1:00, it was an early game, I remember getting to Athens about 9:00 that morning. My best memory from that game is Daryl Smith's 70 yard INT return for TD that made it 27-3. I also remember Godsey faking an option pitch and taking it untouched down the middle of the field for an early lead as well. Great, great game on a bitterly cold day!

Yeah I remember watching that game; it was really wet and gray IIRC. Hell I was in the 6th grade then; it's been far too long.

IMPORTANT PROBLEM.

I heard this morning that the game is 3:30 ABC regional coverage. Here's the question:

Is central Mississippi within the 'region' ? I'm stuck at my wife's grandma's house this year for TG.

Watch out beej; you might have to purchase gameplan at Grandma's house if coverage isn't in MS, but I would assume MS would get the game.

Grandma doesn't have cable, lives on a farm, and it's a dry county with no bars. It bunny ears or nuthin. I don't want to have to sit in my car for saturday afternoon and listen to XM, but I WILL IF I HAVE TO.

Point is, this might give me a valid excuse with the wife to come home early.

I pity you beej! Better bring your own booze then. What kind of announcers do you get on XM?

WTF, I am going to be in Mississippi for TG too. But I will be down in Gulfport. Must be something strange going on this year.

We are leaving Friday night late. I will be at the game, somewhat sleepy, yelling, and stinking of booze.

XM may have both announcers, since it has a SEC and an ACC channel. Not sure. If they port the game over to "XM Nation" or whatever instead of the ACC Channel then we may be stuck with Munson. Again, not sure. (We got Wes for the ND game, even though it was away)

Anyone know what other games ABC has at 3:30? My hope is we get Brad Nessler announcing (which would be the third time in a row in Atlanta). Or possibly Brent Musburger. Actually, anyone other than Dave LaMont. He did the Clempsun game and has been assigned to do most of ABC's ACC games this year with James Hasty or Jesse Palmer. The guy is a washed up ESPN2 hockey announcer who knows little about football.

Right now, the only other game is Oregon-UCLA. We could also see WVU-UConn, but we won't know for sure until Monday.

If it's UCLA-Oregon, I suspect anyone in SEC or ACC territory would get the game. WVU-UConn may raise some issues, though.

I doubt any game with yankee schools gets aired in Mississippi over Tech/Georgia.

The only gag is gonna be coming from the mouths of the Tech people when UGA hangs 50 on you in your own yard. And the last night game was the great 51-7 loss you suffered in your own yard. (Just kidding, it was the 04 game...14-7 UGA win)

Beej, I am pretty sure Mississippi will have the Tech-UGA game on. That is SEC country.
