when I first started reading this I felt this was much to do about nothing but when you look at what led to his arrest it is illuminating....

Hebron was arrested Thursday night outside an Athens bar, the Village Idiot, according to the police report.
The former U.S. Army All-American was attempting to enter the bar and became belligerent when he was denied entry. An employee flagged down a police officer who was on patrol in the area.
The officer smelled alcohol on Hebron and asked for identification. The officer then asked Hebron if he had been drinking, and the player admitted he had.

1. bar name VILLAGE IDIOT :laugher:
2. D (WHO IS ON PROBATION) became belligerent when he was denied entry into a bar :laugher:

How typical. This is the kind of crap you get when you recruit and sign the thugs that they do. Probably fresh out of Hargrave, VA.

Guess this mean Richt will suspend him for the creme puff home game.

He was already suspended for the first two games of this year. He is a habitual violator. He'll be a goner by Wednesday.

and for another year (what is it, 30 years in a row)we seem to think that some of their idiots getting in trouble brings glory to us.

This is what it has been brought down to, not beating them on the field, but concerning ourselves with their problems and not what we need to do to beat their ass on the field.

When we keep losing to them, I guess this is all we can do.

Screw their guys. What are our coaches doing to help our S/As win the game on the field?

Not much it appears.

This is just pathetic and an embarrassment to the whole state.

UGAg should put a boot up this punks backside so big he'd land over in South Carolina somewhere and never be allowed back across the border.

well, I can dream, right?:p

But remember that Brother Mark learned how to sit ont he front row on Sunday, act like a politician and get away with anything, oh yea he learned from The Best, Brother Bobby Bowden.

What a hypocrite, we shoudl expect that at UGA.

How many of ours are smoking pot while theirs are drinking beer? I'm choosing to refrain about others when our best character guy was smoking pot. I wonder what % of our team has/does and why GT is any different than UGA, FSU, CLEM, etc.?

Absolutely right, tex. Taking glee in stupid things like this because they continually kick our ass is lame.

Before you go talking badly about Calvin, remember that we don't know when or how many times he smoked pot. For all you know, he did it one time in 10th grade and learned his lesson. That's pretty low to talk down about CJ like that.

Your palabra gets more boring with each time you post. You're like a broken record.

You're right. We, as fans, should go back to designing plays for CG. What exactly should WE be doing to beat them?

I didn't talk badly about Calvin. He (Calvin Johnson) said this weekend he smoked pot while a freshman at GT and implied he did it more than once. He was pointing out that was then and this is now but his quote sounded like someone who had smoked more than once for sure (which I assume would have gotten him kicked off the football team if caught).

Why throw stones at UGAg when ours do the same? It's pretty hypocritical to condemn others but not GT players for doing the same.

Perhaps holding those who are paid to beat them accountable???

Nah, it would be more appropriate to make fun of their players for failing to look both ways before crossing the street.

The average fan has no say in day-to-day operations of a University's football system - nor should they. Sure, we can ALL refuse to attend games, but that would server more to tarnish the outsider's view of the University than to sway the mind of the Powers that be.

Well say what you want, I like it when UGA screws up. Sure I like it better when we win, but just because we don't win doesn't make it any less enjoyable to watch them misbehave.

Hebron was suspended for the first 2 games, Oklahoma State and South Carolina, for underage drinking. Now, with this new crap, he'll likely be out the first 6 games, 2 for the first violation and 4 for the second, or for the remainder of the season. Not sure why you think Richt picks or allows a player to pick which games they sit out for punishment.
You must be thinking of Ron Zook, Urban Meyer and Steve Spurrier.

A couple of years back, Zook rightfully punished star linebacker Channing Crowder after Crowder was arrested for the 100th time. Crowder was suspended for the first game of the year, a game against Middle Tennessee. Then Hurricane Frances hit and that game was rescheduled for later in season. The first game of the season became Eastern Michigan. Crowder played in that game. Zook conveniently moved the suspension along with the game, so that Crowder missed the Middle Tennessee game later in the season.

Not to be outdone, Meyer and the UF athletic department suspended Marcus Thomas "indefinitely" after failing 2 drug tests in the summer of 2006. After sitting out the 1st 2 games, an internal UF board lifted the suspension, due to an appeal submitted by Thomas, just in time for the game against UT. Thomas played next 5 games against UK, Alabama, UT, LSU, and UGA. Just before the UF game against Vandy, Thomas was kicked off of the team for breaking curfew and not attending drug awareness classes. He missed the last 4 regular season games against Vandy, South Carolina, Western Carolina, and FSU and the SECCG and BCS title game.

That's the definition of a selective suspension. Had Thomas not blown his 4th chance, he'd have earned a BCS title ring all while wearing a back-to-back failed drug test championship belt.

Let the verbal assault begin.
