With UF dropping the ball last year Spurrier and USCeast will slip into my 2nd favorite team spot with another win over ugag this year.

WHO CARES?! Why do you obsess over them? Why not discuss us. Part of OUR problem is we're too concerned about what they're doing instead of focusing on US and OUR team. Until we stop the "look at them, look at them..." routine, we'll continue to be mediocre.

HUH..........................:hsugh:

Won't matter. USCeast is the team symbol beside the Webster's definition of mediocracy - 6-6 this year, 515-517-44 in their history. Played football since 1892, and has 13 bowl appearances, and a 4-9 record. It took them over 100 years (1995) to actually win a bowl game. Their fans are absolutely delusional - year after year expecting better results.:laugher:

This is WHY we are all FANS of our team/school. We appear delusional in the eyes of the football factory malcontents, but our expectation level for the upcoming season and beyond are always set high.

I'm with Dodd, I don't care what uga thinks, unless it has to do with us.

This does belong in another forum but having said that Spurrier needs a QB. I don't know what he's got on the bench but taking a look at his commits for next year he has a couple coming in along with a few skill position peeps and a couple or three of the 'growable' lineman types. Van Gorder might do well there as well but he'll have to prove himself all over again after the post UGAg flop he pulled. But besides all that -

GO JACKETS!!! THWG!!!

if it did not give you pleasure watching USCeast beat Ugag this year I think either you are lying or you don't recognize that what is bad for ugag is good for GT.

I hope Ugag loses every game every year. When I was in law school I enjoyed talking to Tenn fans while they were roasting ugag.

If Ugag loses to USCeast the 2nd game of next season their whole season will be ruined AGAIN.

Maybe you people don't hate ugag football as much as i do. When Vandy fumbled at the end of the game it was like a dagger through the heart.

as the saying goes 2 favorite teams are GT and who ever is playing ugag

Being a Tech fan unites us. Hating UGA unites all the good, true, and noble people of the world.

I Agree. I want them to lose every game in every sport forever.

1) I bet Mark Richt and Mike Bobo are as familiar with VG's defensive tendencies as VG is with UGA's.

In fact, with Bobo now directing the offense istead of just being QB coach one might argue that VG is less familiar.

2) SC does not have the defensive players that UGA had when VG was DC. I believe every starter on the 2002 defense either is or has been on an NFL team.

3) We already dn't score a lot against SC. They always play pretty good defense against us.

Van Gorder is a damn good DC, but it's not like SC has had a chump in there at DC and all of the sudden they hired the best.

Should be interesting to watch.

lawbee, my problem with your post and other posts on this board turns on the obsession with what is going on with them, whether it be good or bad. I think everyone on here will agree that we hate Georgia; that's pointing out the obvious. But always talking about them makes us look like we've got an inferiority complex. At the game this year some of our students sitting near me were singing Rocky Top. Huh? I understand the -- enemy of my enemy is my friend -- that's not lost me. But, I personally feel the constant "look at them" banter makes us look silly, or as my grandkids say, "dorky." In my day, Georgia worried about what we were doing. We owned this State. They were the ones envious of our accomplishments. I'm ready to get back to those days and a good start is focusing on us, not worrying about what they think, etc. Oh yeah, stop hanging out with Tennessee Vols. They're no better than Georgia and they don't respect us either.

I was at a georgia game b/c I was in law school and they happened to be playing Tenn. I am a Tenn fan at least one saturday a year. Uga has a hegemonic effect on EVERY SCHOOL in georgia. You can choose to ignore it but that does not change anything. Most people on this board enjoy watching uga lose. In fact GT winning is probably the ONLY game more pleasing than watching Ugag lose. I feel that most on this board feel the same way. My post highlighted the fact that spurrier (probably the most successful coach ever against Ugag) has just hired a solid DC which could spell doom for the 2nd week of the season for Ugag. You may want to ignore all things ugag I prefer to recognize things that could possibly be bad for ugag. I also usually post arrests, cheating, and etc. by ugag football players.

Lawbee, you are dead on, on this one!!!

To say that the ugagers are nervous as to SC. now is an understatement!

They have now almost a guaranteed loss on the 2nd Saturday of the season every year. Van Gorder with Spurrier makes SC. a national title contender instantly...imho.

Both of them , will not let them lose to ugag...Take it to the bank.

Now, with what Richt pulled on UF (With that celebration after the 1st score) and HOPEFULLY with a cocky confident refuse to lose competitor in our new sheriff in town coach, Ugag will have at least 3 opponents that have a good shot at beating them from now on.

UF will come back stronger and more motivated than ever against ugag now. Lucky for ugag that Tebow couldnt run it effectively with his injury in that game and we still had a coach as Gailey the last couple of years.

Yes, ugag's road has become a lot tougher imho...
It will be very interesting in the future to watch this and I predict GT fan's will be in for some pure enjoyment for a change. :fingersx:

I'm kinda doubting UGA is nervous about any of these coaching changes until someone knocks them in the face and proves they have something to worry about. Their record in the 21st century is stellar and its up to someone to get the job done against them, not just make announcements that they intend to.

I don't think van gorder is all that... but I think that he will know bobos playbook and will be able to read it better than the average joe.

It has to be tougher for UGA.

I guess I'm just different. I don't read about them, don't socialize with them, and really don't think about them. If they're playing on television, I turn the station. I guess subconsciously, I don't want to give them the satisfaction of a fractional Nielson Rating Point.

You haven't been more worried about UNC since they got Butch Davis? We have a 'stellar' record against UNC in the 21st century, but I'm still pretty apprehensive since I think that Davis is a good coach.

My Athens connections tell me Georgia's defenses were Martinez's creations, not VanGorder's, and that they were glad to retain Martinez.
Want a glimpse of VanGorder as a coach? Look at the Falcons LBs this year. And ask any Georgia Southern fan. The only question will be does the expletive come before VanGorder or in the middle.
