UGAg's Media Guide Says 42-42!!!!

As a poster to the article pointed out, in addition to the botched score of 42-42, the UGA media guide also says that the UGA @ Arizona St. game took place in Tempe, Arkansas.

It also looks like they have the schedule from 2004 on the left there when the must have played a game in Fayetteville, Alaska. I for one know how difficult state abbreviations are to remember, I mean there are like 50 of them, right?

They also made a mistake regarding the score of the 1999 game. I have the Hive post stashed away somewhere - the AJC actually quoted several posts from the Hive in that story.

I don't know what it is about 42. UGa doesn't count the game played in 1942. They can't count higher than 42. And, as most Tech fans are aware, the answer to everything is, in fact, 42.

No wonder they're having such an insurmountable problem dealing with 409 total yards rushing.

I just called the Sports Communications Dept at the Georgie Athletic Assissation.

this guy:

Claude Felton
Sports Communications
Associate Athletic Director for Sports Communications
(706) 542-1621
eMail Claude Felton : cfelton@sports.uga.edu

An admin answered, and she was actually polite and literate. Despite the AJC article about it, they had no apparent clue about the errors.

She asked for a page number, but it is not in that JPEG. i think she found it though. she seemed distressed that Fayetteville had moved to Alaska and that Phoenix had moved from Arizona to Arkansas.

maybe we should all email blast this guy too, "admiring" their creativity

When I called the editors of the media guide, they explained the confusion to me. What happened is that Knowshon over-hurdled an Arizona State defender and landed in Arkansas.

Found the article from 2000:

Me and another Hiver (Whisk_E_Clear) are the two Hivers quoted in the article.

Every time they lose, there's a misprint in the following year's media guide.
