UGAy...how many can they sign???

I think they only took 19 last year. The rule for the SEC is 25 per class maximum but you can count early enrollees towards last years class, so that would put them at 31 total. Also of the 19 they signed last year I think a couple of those were early enrollees as well so the 34 number may be accurate.

I though the SEC was doing a hard-cap at 28 though. As in if you signed a full 25 class, you could sign up to 3 additional as early enrollees or some other combination.

I thought there was an NCAA and SEC limit in there somewhere.....Are they finally realizing what it takes to win in the mold of an Alabama and LSU???
no it's because they have something like 70 scholarship players to start the season.

When you get 4 arrests, 6 players flunk out, and between 2 and 10 players kicked off the team for unspecified rules violations every year, you create a lot of room for new recruits.

The last couple of years they've counted a ----load of guys towards the previous years class. That's why it seems like they've signed 40 losers every year.

They are going to very young for a few years.
Also, I hope they don't get the same caliber of blue-chip talent when they are signing 30 instead of 20.

Biggest short-term benefit of this is that there is a good chance uga could be working with less than 65 scholarship athletes when November rolls around.

That could be good for us playing them at the end of the season. If they redshirt 10 or so, that leaves them pretty thin.

They aren't. They are taking a lot of 3 star and I believe the even have a 2 star guy, Rico Johnson.

The only reason their recruiting class is ranked so high is strictly due to quantity not quality.

Their "highly rated QB recruit" was actually one of the worst QB's at the open camp.

If they sign 34 they are going to find themselves with a seriously unbalanced roster. That one class would represent 40% of their scholarships. Such a class unbalanced roster has the potential to create a very good team since they can build a very experienced two-deep. The obvious downside to this game of roster-roulette is the rapid loss of talent that comes with graduation and early jumps the NFL. Better not whiff on the following recruting class or the cupboard becomes really empty really quick.

Then again, their attrition rate has been so bad recently that it might not matter.

They will keep the talent and dump the losers. Then sign 25+ next year. The cycle of dominance continues.

The problem they have, and what makes it frustrating that we still lose, is that the talent they sign is usually D bags. Crowell is a prime example. He was the #1 RB in the state, one of the best in the country, they signed him and he was a bad apple. Why can we not beat these fools? It's like too many dwag fans sold their souls to the devil.
