UNC Dissed by Bowls

Actually, yes. Beating the piss out of Eastern Michigan and Troy looks a lot better than doing the same to Wofford and The Citadel in the eyes of the committee (and the old BCS format). FCS games are weighed differently.

Not saying you're wrong, but that's silly. SOS among the cupcake portion of teams' schedules should be one of the very last factors included in anything.

But really, it's irrelevant. Replace Delaware with Troy and nothing changes. FSU at two losses would still have a better resume than they would. If they beat South Carolina, they're playing in the Peach Bowl.

I will never understand scheduling 2 FCS opponents after Auburn got denied in 2004.

UNC is pathetic in so many ways.

Meh, the Peach Bowl picking FSU is fine. FSU and UNC had roughly equivalent resumes. UNC wouldn't have won their division either if they were in the same division as Clemson.

I don't think any team sets out to schedule two FCS teams. It's a last resort when a series gets called off or postponed.

Also, Auburn didn't play 2 FCS opponents. There were three undefeated teams, so someone was going to get left out. Auburn's problem was they didn't play ANYONE of any substance in the non-conference.

Last year we lost to FSU in the ACC Championship game. FSU goes to the Final 4 and we go to the Orange Bowl.

This year UNC loses to Clemson in the ACC Championship game. Clemson goes to the Final 4 and UNC goes to....

FSU to the Peach Bowl on 12/31

NC State to the Belk Bowl on 12/30

finally...

UNC to the Russell Athletic Bowl on 12/29

Screw UNC and their sorry cheating arse. Karma is a BIOTCH.

Dang. You're right. I always thought they had two FCS opponents that year. However, their OOC was super weak.....

Louisiana-Monroe
Louisiana Tech
The Citadel

Also, getting blown out by USC the season before (1 week before Reggie Ball beat them) certainly hurt their cause. This was back when there was no SEC media bias.

C'mon... "GT dissed by bowls"

(Where's WE when you need him?)

If anyone got screwed, I would say it was Pitt. They were tied for 3rd best conference record & 4th best overall record. They were totally skipped over by the 'Tier I' ACC bowls and ended up being slotted in the 7th bowl.

The whole thing is our fault for not devouring a weak division.
