UNC finishes 6-6

Too many “Tech fans” would rather post negative crap about Tech football (coaches, players, uniforms, media) than root for the team. Those same “Tech fans” are probably wearing red and black today.

Complaining about how bad we are should be taken as a desire to be better. Defending how we are right now will be taken as acceptance of tech being bad. It's clear which the dwags prefer.

It’s not the complaining that is a problem. It’s the frequency and level of complaining that is a problem. You know there is a middle ground to where you don’t have to complain on every post, but you also don’t have to defend the crap that we have to call Tech football either.

For sure. I think it's a natural response to those digging in saying theres no way we can fire Geoff no matter how bad, it's still cpjs fault, we're making progress, etc. This is probably the worst this program has ever been, but there's an odd lack of unity on what to do about it, even on what step 1 is

If the buyout weren't an issue, is there *anybody* who would choose to keep CGC for next year? The only rationale I've heard from his "defenders" (I'm sure they wouldn't accept that term) is that it's financially prohibitive to fire him.

I think (at least on my part) it’s more of an acceptance that we aren’t firing him, so let’s focus on what we can do. It’s also a pushing back on the guys that have been going all in on pissing on every single thing Collins has tried to do at Tech since day 1 without ever giving him a chance. Those same guys will be doing that to whomever the next coach is too.

If we fired CGC tomorrow, I don’t think there would be much of a negative response from the fan base (myself included).

Not just that but also the argument that we aren’t going to raise our spending limit enough to hire a decent coach so we’ll just be digging our hole further - if that’s even possible.

Look at it another way. If any program out there could take him, and only pay half his current salary, would any?

That’s a valid point. If Tech isn’t willing to at least be in the ballpark to compete spending wise. There isn’t much reason to make a change at all. Just be resigned to being like Vandy, but in the ACC. IIWII

Where do these numbers come from?

100% agree.

Its also a chance for the guys who doubted Collins or (like me) who wanted to stick with the option to say that they were right. Though some of the guys are dicks about it which doesn't convince anyone.

Lost in this thread are the lols that should be thrown at Mack Brown. And the UNC fanbase who welcomed back with open arms a used car salesman who already ööööed them once.
I don't care what happens at UNC or Duke, but if our "fans" think UNC is in bad shape winning six games and going to a bowl and at least not losing two games 100-0, well I guess we have hit rock bottom. Brown is in the senile room with Joe Biden and he still won six games, while our goof ball managed, get this to lose to The Citadel with a 3rd string QB that only won 3 games in FCS. Until we become relevant again, I say we should be real, real quiet.

We were expected to win 5 and won 3. Yes, it sucks. They were preseason Top 10 and won 6. Including a skull ööööing at our place. That is still worth a lol.

But you should feel free to be real, real quiet.
