UNC Game at MBS

The sound is also terrible in Jerry World, but I think it’s a better facility.

I don't think anyone would expect a stadium...especially an enclosed stadium should be mistaken for Royal Albert Hall.

The sound is awful in just about every stadium now. In the old days, fans entertained themselves getting the crowd going, doing the wave, whatever. Today everyone has to be entertained. For me, it's so loud I tend not to go anymore. But I am not the target audience, I get it.

I will fight you.

You can't see the stupid video board that MB has installed in the glory hole from the upper deck - there is a reason teams don't design such dumbass video boards. Also, the sound is absolutely horrible up there. Can't here the announcers well due to the design of the roof that echos sound to the point you can't hear it. Also, the entrance and exit points in the corners are pinched so you can only fit about 10 wide through. Couple that with the placement of concession stands and nobody moves anywhere. During our game with UT, folks were having to enter the portal and walk across rows to get to their seats since no progress could be made in the actual walk areas. Terrible, terrible design. 15-20 years from now, when they blow MB stadium up finally, nobody will miss that ööööhole.
The Georgia Dome, despite appearing bland, had a much better layout and was easier to navigate to your seats. MB stadium was built to maximize luxury box $$$.

I sat about halfway up the upper deck in MB for the UW vs AU game a couple years ago and had no issues seeing the board, getting concessions, or hearing things; but I was sitting on about the 35 yard line. I have no idea how things are in the corners; but if you are buying upper deck corner seats you shouldn't expect much. What sucked was getting out of MB and onto MARTA after the game, that shouldn't be a problem for UNC vs GT if they are limiting it to half capacity though.

They offered an upgrade to club seats for $150 a pop. There were LOTS of midfield seats still available. This was a few months ago but I can't imagine folks paying $200+ for a GT vs UNC game. The plan was always to curtain off the upper deck. It's actually a really good environment if the lower 2 levels are full.
What about social distancing?

At the UT game, the sound was so bad you couldn’t even hear the stadium announcer. That’s pretty bad.

And if they can’t figure out the sound, they ought to quit hosting concerts…

Apparently, we have to put the Mercedes Dome app on our phone and download the tickets from there, separately from the Tech season ticket app. I know I am old but I miss the simple old printed tickets.
i went thru that link they provided which logged me on to my ticketmaster account. from there i downloaded them to apple wallet. bypassed the MBS app.

i miss printed tix too. i think they were on the way out and covid just sped up the process.

It's a sly new way to collect and then sell your data.

Covid was just an excuse. Tell me how holding your phone out to scan is any different than holding your ticket out to scan? It's still contactless.

Wasn't the whole idea to prevent scalping?

GO JACKETS!!

Maybe the initial "transition" was for that, but last year they used COVID as the excuse to go completely "contactless" even though the previous method was also already "contactless."

y’all need to quit being bitches and get your fukin ass to the game.

That might still be an option at BDS (I’m not sure) but I think MBS went paperless a couple of years ago and it is a hard rule.
MBS is also completely cashless as well, just a heads up for all you old folks that still prefer that...
