UPDATE to DirectTV subscribers on the game (MUST.READ)........

I spoked to someone at CSNB (415-296-8900)...they have been instructed by ESPN to black out the game in all areas of the country that is not in their natural footprint in California. This means that you will have to order it up for $24 on ESPN GamePlan....even though your DirecTV guide is showing it as being televised on Channel 696.

Not sure what someone in California would want with the GT/MSU game...but whatever.
 
You have to have the premiere package to get the channel anyway, which I don't. Plus for the $24, you get the whole game plan line up for the day, right? Not a bad deal.

I keep the SportsPack year round...the measly $12 per month for 38 extra sports channels is worth it. I catch more GT basketball (arrgh) and baseball...plus a lot of west coast college sports late at night when I cannot sleep! Plus...lots of extra soccer which my daughter likes to watch.
 
Do you get any rugby or Aussie rules football? I'm big on both of those, that could be worth it.

I would not doubt it on the English and European sports channels (tons of soccer)....it is just not something I look for. I would check out the channels yourself and see.

I know I have seen rugby on one of my channels before...just not sure which.
 
you've got to be kidding me. I guess i'll have to try to catch it on 360

I think the aussie rules final(I think?) last week was on espn classic live, of course started after midnight :)

My Australian friend said espn360 shows all that stuff.
 
How is ESPN 360?

I have AT&T DSL. I was planning to take an LCD projector home from work and hook that and a pair of amplified speakers up to my iMac (2.66 GHz).

Do you think it is going to be buffering all night, etc.?

Worked fantastically for me for the Jax St game. Quality was great, no buffering at all that I remember. One minor annoyance:

When going to a commercial, the player will un-fullscreen itself and not return to fullscreen when the commercial is over. Normally this wouldn't be a huge issue, but I had my laptop hooked up to my TV, which meant walking to the other side of the room to return it to fullscreen.

I'm also on AT&T DSL, (one of the slowest ones) It was ok for the J State game earlier this year. Only had a couple of freeze ups and those were during commercials. Picture quality wasn't the best but better than nothing at all.
 
I just decided to shell out the $24 so I will get it in HD and get the full 46" widescreen. When I hook up ESPN360 to the tv it does well....just not as good.

Now if we drop an egg like at Miami...I will wish I just hooked up 360! :grin:

GamePlan is HD? I thought it wasn't.

Are you sure that the gameplan is in HD? If that is the case I will fork over the $24 instead of using ESPN360.
 
According to the gameplan schedule there are some games in HD, this is not one of them.
