Updated Rivals Depth Chart (Seniors Removed)

Aside from Thomas being a senior I'm not sure that 16 will be the better team. 16 will really depend on how well we've been building OL depth, only starter from these year that will be on that line is Burden.

It cuts both ways. We lose Chamberlain, Braun, and Joe next year. I guess there's also a chance we lose Devine if he's a beast (if he drops more weight I imagine NFL scouts will love him).

BUT, we have little returning experience at WR, AB, and BB. The edge blocking, which is every bit as important as blocking up the middle, will not be as good as this season without Waller, Perkins, Smelter, etc. Andrews is ok and should improve.

The main thing our depth chart next year is pretty balanced. I think we will end up gaining more talent than we lose from 2015 to 2016.

Whitehead at 209? Is this guy on Jenny Craig???

I don't know. I don't see how he's going to really be able to contribute at DE when he's the size of a safety. Heck, Freeman is kind of small as it is and he's got 35+ lbs on Whitehead.

interesting... no Mikell Lands Davis on that depth chart so I guess that assumes he'll RS, which is good.

and JJ Green will have to sit 2015 out so the AB's should be Snoddy/Lynch and Andrews/Willis.

He's not at Tech yet so he's not on the depth chart. Only freshman on the depth chart are the early enrollees.

Our backup punter is Tim Byerly.
Who thinks Byerly will be moved to A back or even B back next season, since keeping him to back up Thomas will keep the redshirt kid on the bench permanently it seems. Would not surprise me and Byerly would not be the first QB Johnson has moved.

We need a good backup to JT, a QB that has never played is not what we want at backup. Byerly will stay at QB, and at one-injury-away from starting. This is his last season anyway.

I think he'll move. No reason he would not still be the backup if needed, and if Jordan doesn't beat him out for backup, who's to say he won't xfer. Not unheard of for Johnson.

I'm with cyp on Byerly. I think he'll get plenty more action next year if we start blowing people out anyway.

He's an option QB and he's already transferred once. He'll be a JR in eligibility but he'll most likely graduate next spring (2016). He's not going to transfer.

And as good as he is when he was in this year, Jordan is not likely to beat him out, either.

2015 ---> his last season

Did I miss that one somewhere?

Depends on how long you lurked before joining. If your join date is indicative of your exposure to stingtalk, then yes, you absolutely missed those. Much like you would have missed all the people predicting we'd miss out on a bowl game this year.
