Urban Meyer NEVER going to ND and will make UF his last job.....

California vs Florida in terms of high school talent is a living laughing joke. There is no comparison. California produces flaky coast line pansies, whereas Florida instills toughness. No contest here

Again, NFL says otherwise, but hell, what does the NFL know--after all, the 20 year dumbass Nostradamus speaking is all knowing.

Y'all are forgetting the fact that Notre Dame can recruit in ANY state that holds Catholics (which is every state of course). recruits don't choose ND for it's football history.

Pretty sure you are mistaken there. Notre Dame has great appeal to more than just Catholics.

Urban would be crazy to leave for ND.....hell he could be govenor of FLorida if he ran. He's got a dynasty in the making and it's damn near there already. Why go to ND.....Tyrone went to a BCS bowl in his 1st or 2nd year (i think).....Bob Davies won 8 or 9 games every year i believe.... and Charlie Weis took em to a BCS...................Bob...fired..............Tyrone......Fired......
Charlie............hotseat...............there is 0 job security at ND.

They're still living in the clouds where they think they deserve to be preseason top 10 every year. ND is no where near the ND of old......and with the turnover at HC...........they never will be again. You can't build a program with that kind of turnover in the coaching ranks

BTW, found the link that cites the number of players per state as D-I players.

So, where are the players?
• Texas, Florida and California had more than twice as many recruits as any of the other states.
• Georgia and Ohio round out the ‘Fab Five’ best recruiting states in the country. More than 50 percent of all top-division signees came from these five states.
• Mississippi had the most top-division athletes per capita in the United States with one per every 39,443 people. (California has one per 105,341)
• Louisiana had more top-division signees than Pennsylvania.
• Nebraska had only 10 top-division recruits.

Well, in Notre Dame's defense, with all the money they pay Lord Bacon, and all the pompous hot-air that he spouts off, to get his results the last two seasons, I'd put him on the hot seat too. I think they gave Willingham a raw deal though.

As for Corch Urvan Meyers, like I said, I think he'd go to ND because he's arrogant enough to think the above examples do not apply to him. I don't think he'd have any success there though, mostly because he couldn't recruit the same caliber of person at ND. There's no way those people would allow the behavior that Florida is exhibiting right now.

not sure how this discussion got to FL vs. CA...nor have I read these articles...but Urban Meyer has been clear for years that at this point in his kid's life he wants to be close to home...and at Notre Dame you spend your time flying out out to California and all over the country to recruit. Yet, at UF he can drive to see most recruits and high schools and be home for dinner that night.

Good point. Funny how Weiss gets so much more rope.

Well, to be fair he does have top 10 after top 10 recruiting class, and he did get to two BCS bowls(tangible results.) I know the teams suck, but that has to count for something. Plus his rope just about ran out after last season...so I think it's time for him to shape up(figuratively of course) or they'll ship him out.

Big Chuck got extra rope because A) the outcry about pulling the plug on Ty so quickly and B) Ty was never a "Notre Dame" man. That can mean a lot of things to a lot of people, and I'm not going to comment on any of them.

The comment about Urban staying close to home for his kids makes a lot of sense to me though, and maybe he will actually stay put for a few years.

Good link. I've always found it interesting the state of Georgia only has two big time programs. If you look at prospects per program, no state even comes close. Florida and California were the closest with around 50 prospects per program, Georgia has 79! Makes me hate Dave Braine even more seeing these numbers.
