The ACC blog says both our backfield and the secondary is loaded for GT.

I think this is the third or fourth time Dwyer has appeared on the front page of espn this offseason.

Some douche clemons fan on the ESPN blog is saying Tech has never had any decent RB's. Haven't we had the leading rusher in the ACC the majority of the years in the past 5 seasons? PJ Daniels, Tashard, and now Dwyer.

Yeah, Clemson fans are completely outta their league with those comments. Tech has led the league in rushing many more times than Clemson over the past 10 years. Even with Gailey's inept offense, we still led the league in rushing.

Clemson's waste of talent with James Davis and CJ Spiller is epic. Similar to our waste of Calvin Johnson under Gailey. Clemson's running game could've been so much more over the last 4 years.

Hearing Clemson fan's talk about CJ Spiller is getting to the point of utter ridiculousness. I mean we lead the nation in some rushing categories last year and Clemson was no where close. I'll be glad when Spiller is gone just so Clemson fans will just shut up and realize that thunder and lightning never materialized. Also, two years ago didn't we hold them both to like 31 rushing yards?

Just did a little research on rushing leaders...

2003
P.J. Daniels 2nd leading rusher in the ACC
Duane Coleman 8th

2004
GT no one in top 10
Reggie Merriwether 10th

2005
P.J. Daniels 2nd
James Davis 4th

2006
Choice 1st
Davis 3rd
Spiller 4th

2007
Choice 1st
Davis 2nd
Spiller 9th

2008
Dwyer 1st
Nesbitt 8th
Clemson no one in top 10

So since 2003 Clemson's leading rusher has only had more yards than GT's leading rusher once. In that same time frame GT has had the leading or second leading rusher 5 times, Clemson has had the 2nd leading rusher once. GT has had the leading rusher in the ACC the last 3 years in a row and I would lay any amount of money on GT doing it again.

As a team to be sure but individual yardage may drop because we are so loaded back there.

As long as PJ is here, and no freak injuries, GT will have the leading rusher for yards every year in the ACC.

I tried to argue on a VT board that we have the best rb and they claim you can't judge based on yardage gained. WTF? This is because we run 90% of the time.

ask them to check out the yards per carry, and i think you still have an argument.

besides, that is like saying Marino's passing attack wasnt great b/c he passed all the time? wft? of course he did, that was what he was good at...

The forecast in Clemins might have been for thunder and lightning, but it turned out just to be a light spring shower.

Ask them why DT wasn't all-conference then. Ask them how often the voters measure how good of a blocker someone is for All-Conference Awards for WR's.

Is Darren Evans supposed to be their best running back?

Darren Evans: 287 rushes, 1265 yards, 4.4 ypc, 11 TDs
Diesel: 200 rushes, 1395 yards, 7.0 ypc, 12 TDs

Dwyer had 70% of Evan's carries, but outgained him in every other way.

People don't want to face the facts that Dwyer was ACC player of the year because he is amazingly awesome, and he'd still be awesome even if he played in a "pro" offense.

But Darren Evans gets EXTRA CREDIT yards for running out of the I.

Everyone knows that.

Hell you can even say that detraction's against Dwyer for our offense can be applied to Darren Evans. He benefits from having his QB be a big running threat as much as Dwyer does.

And let's not forget...Nesbitt was only a "big" running threat against VT and BC. He was generally too hurt the rest of the year.

Still 8th in the ACC in rushing though...wasn't he?
