Utah conference proposes 8-team-playoff

Now I know why the BCS is so completely ****ed up. John Swofford, the most incompetent fool to ever lead a major conference, is head of the BCS. When will the ACC get rid of this tool?

I believe the commissioner of the BCS rotates among the BCS conferences every two years. Swofford's term should be just about up.

When will he no longer be ACC commissioner? I know chinese whores who can do a better job than he can. And I say that with a straight face. Swofford is incompetent.

I've really enjoyed myself for the last few months. You know why? Because I haven't heard or thought about Swofford. UGH.

Actually a good question, I have no idea how the ACC commissioner is chosen. I would guess it's by a board consisting of university presidents.

Well, we already know one of those presidents is no longer in place. Clough couldn't make a decent hire if his job depended on it.

I think the ADs at UNC and Duke choose the comissioner.:eek5:

Clough did choose DRad over Curry, which I am very, very thankful for. Not really sure if that atones for Braine though.

The NCAA as well as the conferences really do very few things, do none of them well, and the commissioners get paid hundreds of thousands in the process. It's the good 'ol boys system at its worse.

Radakovich? Chameau? and I can think of many others that were good hires. Of course, you can counter with Braine and Gailey. PJ was hired on Clough's watch.

Even so, Tech is going to miss Clough a lot.

p.s. Swofford is a little girl. WE could probably replace him with one of your aforementioned Chinese whores and no one would notice. After all, I'm sure they'd provide Duke and UNC the same services Swofford has been putting out.

Not so. With the Chinese whore, at least we know we'd get our moneys worth. Swofford just ****s us and doesn't even bother giving us a reacharound.

To hell with a playoff.

The BCS is here to stay.

If you think otherwise, you are delusional and misinformed.

For those wanting a playoff, face the reality - those who make decisions in D-1A College Football are not Barry Obama.

Mountain West proposes 8 team playoff:
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3952542

BCS bowl become quarter finals and semi-finals in the proposed format. A 'selection committee' chooses and seeds teams.

Just something interesting to note, of course it's not happening.

If 'and if' that actually happened... Utah, BYU, Mountain West Conference, or whoever goes undefeated from a non-BCS conference would be left out of an eight team playoff and they would continue to bitch and complain....this solves nothing....A 11-1/10-2/9-3 ACC SEC B12 B10 PAC10 team is more deserving of one of those 8 spots than an undefeated Big Mountain **** conference team or whatever...

Yea, except that Utah beat a 12-1 team from the "mighty" SEC this year. Make no mistake, if there's an 8 team playoff, there will be one charity team in every season from a mid major conference. That's the only way the system can feign impartiality, while maintaining the current status quo. The problem is that some of the mid major **** teams are actually quite good.

you are like 12 and have no concept of the history of college football. you dont know what you are talking about. the BCS already almost went down.. just a few years ago

If you have a system with concrete bid qualifications such as win a BCS conference OR go undefeated in a mid-major conference, then whoever does those things is more deserving. I'm sure the proposal included concrete criteria like that and wasn't just eight at-large bids. The whole "more deserving team" notion is a byproduct of a stupid system that has no criteria for giving out bids to its championship.

LOL

Why don't you just look at the information that's already out there, EVEN NOW the highest ranked non-BCS team gets AUTOMATIC bid into BCS bowls if it's in top 12 ranking. Now look at the data:
08-09: Utah #6
07-08: Hawaii #10
06-07: Boise State #8
04-05: Utah #6
So EVEN now these teams outrank 11-1/10-2/9-3 if they are in top 12.

Any playoff will have its controversies too, someone complaining at the end. But the point is there will be less serious complaints.
