Do you think the ACC's reputation will be bolstered a little bit if UVA keeps it close? Or do you think they'll just say USC is "rebuilding" this year.

The only thing that is going to bolster the ACC's reputation this season is an ACC team winning a BCS Bowl in January. That and an ACC At-Large berth would do wonders.

If by "surprisingly close" you mean within 4 touchdowns, then I agree.

UVa lost most of their playmakers from a 9-4 team that with a few different bounces (e.g. Andrew Smith fumbled punt) could have been 5-7. They will get routed.

You never know in college football. Also, I never asked whether or not they would win. You guys should reread the original post.

In talent there is no comparison. This will be a sad one to watch for UVA fans.

Games like these are extremely well thought out by teams like USC. They knew exactly what they were getting into. USC wins going away. USC is clearly better and UVA is clearly going to be down this year. It will get ugly.

I bet that "Mexican" quarterback throws for at least 300 yds and 4 TDs. It won't even be close. Do you all remember when Arkansas, a team around the same level as UVA thought they could hang? Well, they got beat 70-17. I bet SC gets at least 50 and keeps UVA under 20.

Maybe UVA should take out its starters so it can get down to Stanford levels. And USC thought they could hang with them.

Whoville can do some strange things. Not beating USC, but not taking a complete whooping may be possible.

If the score differential is lower than 40 I'd be surprised. USC covers before the end of the first half. UVA is seriously that bad.

I'm predicting something like 42-10. UVA sucks almost as bad as their coach....Groh needs to Go.

For what it's worth, USC has a mexican QB. And it's not a soccer game...

not worth much...
by the way, there have been several Mexicans in the NFL, and that does not count Americans of Mexican descent.

i hope that this was an attempt at humor rather than a heart-felt sentiment!

Uva lost its opener with Wyoming last year 23-3. They have no chance vs. USC.

Czar, I have grown to love your bleeding heart...

Truthfully, it was just a random piece of trivia... Plus i think he is mexican american

And i dont think any of those mexicans were quarterbacks either, at least not prominent QB's...

Also FYI, Tony Romo, Jeff Garcia, JP Losman, and Marc Bulger are all Mexican American.

And as far as I can tell there have only been two mexican born athletes in the NFL: Rolando Cantu and Max Montoya.

thanks, man. i guess i am always there for the underdog.
by the way, i am huge into soccer, played all my life (on the Tech club team until i did my ACL for the second time) and go watch many games in local sports bars from England, Italy, & Spain.

we were talking about adding men's & women's soccer back when i was a Rat at Tech in 1988.. many years ago.
