Venables as scout team QB

Some times Venables has a little too much fun.
Sounds like he's trying to relive some glory days...

I wonder if they spent any time during SCSt week practicing for us since that was walkover for sure.?
You bet, they have been practicing for us all off season. Maybe that's why they didn't look that great against others.

Clemson did an option period this spring called the “Georgia Tech period,” where it worked on stopping the Yellow Jackets’ offense and spent a couple of practices during fall camp solely focused on Georgia Tech.

“Georgia Tech is just a whole different animal because from a defensive standpoint you don’t have a lot of carry over. … When you play Georgia Tech, they’re just so different we don’t see that anywhere else. It’s truly a game and season of its own when you play these guys,” Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said. “We’ve worked really all year long on Georgia Tech from a defensive standpoint.”

It would be interesting to know how much time certain teams spend preparing for certain opponents during spring and fall camp. Like if Clemson spent that much time on us, how much time did they spend on FSU, Louisville, or Auburn? It is just weird to think that a team that went 14-1 "worked really all year long" on a team that went 3-9. Do we prepare for specific teams during the offseason? I need answers.

Venables also gets fired up when he burns the defense on a play to make his point. Like when he plays out a fake and hits a wide receiver in stride for a touchdown.

Oh, this sounds really promising.

I think if Venables can do it, JT can do it. First play?

In his coaches show, Dabo reiterated that they had spent time in camp 'on the option'
