For opposing teams. Josh Nesbitt- sophmore Jonathan Dwyer- sophmore Roddy jones- freshman Embry peeples- freshman bay bay thomas- sophmore tyler melton- freshman jaybo shaw- freshman also a guy who will make a huge impact next year Anthony Allen- sophmore. Our future is VERY bright.

Wait, you mean o line?

Doing fine with a patched together O line this year. Lose our all conference player but surely the sum total of the extra year on the others has to compensate.

DL is a strength that will be impossible not to step back. If that step is minimal we will be awesome.

You forgot Marcus Wright. A smaller, faster Barry Sanders.

It is so retarded that Nesbitt is going to be a junior next year. Those QB draws really helped us out last year, Chan.

Don't get ahead of yourself. you're comparing a kid who got redshirted to the best runningback who has ever played the game.
Agreed. Meant to suggest the similarity in style. And he is ungodly fast.

We are very young offensively and that is great. What scares me is the DL.
I don't get this. First, turnover is a fact of life in college ball. Also, we don't know how they younger guys will pan out yet. I can understand having questions. But not being scared. The truth is someone we aren't predicting will step up more than we think, and someone we don't even know about will be in the mix.

The defensive line is phenomenally talented, arguably the best DL I can remember at GT. But players do come and go in the college game, and others will be there to fill the void.

I have had this 'fear' over the LB corps for years; who is going to replace Ted Roof ..Willis Crockett ..Calvin Tiggle ..Marco Coleman ..Jamal Cox ..Ron Rogers ..Keith Brooking ..Ricardo Wimbush ..Key Fox ..Gerris Wilkenson ..Darryl Smith ..Philip Wheeler ..etc...

Players are out there and GT will get it's share of them.

Are TJ Barnes and Uzzi staying on offense? Or will they be on the DL next year?

TJ Barnes is a man-child.

Peters and DMorgan as DE's.

Who will be the other DT?

We get T.J. Barnes on the DL next year, who by most reports has been a beast to stop because of his size. Also, we have Lanier coming in and it would not surprise me if he competes for a spot on day one. The problem I think is going to be quality depth on the DL.

Regarding the DT:

1) No matter who was next, you would have a drop off at DT after losing Vance Walker and Daryl Richard...both may be taken first day in NFL draft. Special Note: Michael Johnson got lots of pub for the blocked kick...Daryl Richard made it happen by blowing his man 5 yards back.

2) Next year we only have 4 DT's....three of which are underclassmen. Even if we get another recruit to go with Lanier...you cannot expect a true freshman to have an huge impact.

TJ Barnes- Freshman-R; He is not an everydown DT yet...and is primarily a run-stopper. Does not have the flexibility to do both yet like Walker, Richard, and Anyaibe. He will get a lot more conditioning over the next year to get him ready. He will be forced into action next year...but do not expect Walker/Richard type play yet from him.

Logan Walls- Sophomore-R; He was a big-time recruit that chose us over UGA, Clemson, Auburn, etc. The broken leg set him back. It would be HUGE for us if he can get past this mentally and physically and be an every down DT next year.

JC Lanier- true Freshman- He has already lost 3-40 pounds and is working hard to get in shape and contribute next year. We cannot expect him to be an every down DT next year...and freshman always struggle in the trenches from a strength perspective. bottom line....he will have to play some.

Ben Anderson- Junior-R; It would be great if we could get 15-20 snaps per game from him next year. Great kid, great motor...does not have the natural athleticism of a Walker/Richard. We will need him though.

3) Lastly, you may see some different combinations with Hall, Morgan, and Peters moving around on passing downs.

It's a shame that Roof's career here as a Defensive Coordinator has made it to where when I read his name I become filled with bitterness and hatred and the urge to vomit.

Don't let that aspect take away from what Ted Roof was to this program as a player.

Ted played at Central Gwinnett, which was a rival to my school, Norcross. I remember an article in the Gwinnett Daily News at the time where Tally Johnson, CG's head coach for years, talked about having to reign in Roof at practice for fear he would injure his offensive teammates.
