Very sobering news last night.......

That is sad to hear, Dewberry is way too young to be dealing with something like this, my prayers go out to him and his family.

My understanding it has to do with his colon. Don't hold me too that, I'm trying to find out more infomation.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I forgot about that one that can tend to take you quickly.

Although our paths never crossed JDew and I have something in common.

I am truly saddened by this. Even though I mainly lurk on this board, I feel the need to comment.

Although I've never met him, John has a house around the corner from me in Charleston. We both used the same contractor for our restorations, and I was able to watch his project closely. The final product was a stunning and historically accurate restoration job that adds to the fabric of Historic Charleston. Even though he seems to be seldom here, window boxes always have a fresh array of flowers that please both tourists and residents alike.

John's company bought an albatross of a building on our main square, with plans to turn it into a showpiece for the City. We all hope he is able to follow through on this project, as it needs the kind of sensitive touch he demonstrated on his house.

John, if you happen to read this, please know that the entire City of Charleston wishes you the best. If you need anything done down here please don't hesitate to ask me (I usually know where to find Fillmore).

Godspeed.

'67,

I'm neither drunk nor stupid, it was the end of a long day and I was just very tired and sad. I caught the error in my phrasing but was just too tired to correct it, sorry. Didn't mean to slight your/my/all of our sincere concern for John and his family.

Given the gravity of John's condition I'll overlook the rudeness in your reply.

In light of my thread starter about John, It was insensitive of me to put the word Terminal in there. Yes, we have spoken to several teammates and friends and we all support John and his fight to WIN this battle.

I never hung around John that much but the only thing that comes to mind whenever his name comes up is the word "WINNER" that's all he did when he came do Tech.

Obviously it's played well for him in his business life also.

Cancer just picked on the wrong guy.

Thoughts and prayers for John and his family.

I'm glad I took the time to make it to Lunch Bunch last week to hear him speak. He was captivating, as usual.
