It is certainly a tragedy, but how does that equate to an extra year of eligibility? Seems dumb to me.
Oh no!So a redshirt year (play 4 games), then a free year for covid, now this extra year. So we could see some 7th year seniors next year?
7 years?

This is an important element. Could be cases where players want to play another year, but coaches want to upgrade. I’d assume they’re free against the scholarship limit at least next year. What does that do to their 25/85 scholly limit? Guess it just extends their COVID Eligibility.
What else are you going to do? Give them eligibility for two more games?
Yea. Because that equates a teammate killing 4 other teammates. Seems fair that these kids won’t remember their careers ending with such a tragedy. Like others said, it’s probably like 8 guys. This is ööööing retarded. Our 2017 seniors should get a half season of eligibility back for UCF cancelling our game because of a phantom, inland hurricane if this is how it’s going to be.
Giving an entire year of eligibility is an extremely weird remedy for having to endure the stress of teammates’ deaths. There’s a handful of teams each year that have players killed, yet they all seemed to get by with regular eligibility.Yea. Because that equates a teammate killing 4 other teammates. Seems fair that these kids won’t remember their careers ending with such a tragedy. Like others said, it’s probably like 8 guys.
They lost two games. What about players who lost 4-5 games due to injury in programs all over the country? This is more about emotional posturing than any logical fairness.
