Who?Still won't be as old as Stetson
I am trying to remember how many extra years of eligibility the surviving players at Marshall were granted.
Interestingly enough the next freshman class was essentially granted an extra year of eligibility as they were given a special waiver to play at a time when freshmen weren't normally allowed to.
Their roster has 18 Seniors with six more walk-ons.Seems like an overreaction, but who cares. It’ll probably only affect a few players.
Ok, so the NCAA didn’t just do this in a vacuum. Sounds to me like UVa petitioned the NCAA for the extra year. Why would Virginia do that?
I don’t blame the NCAA for granting it - who could turn down such a request?
But back to the why. I smell ulterior motive from Cavman.
So a redshirt year (play 4 games), then a free year for covid, now this extra year. So we could see some 7th year seniors next year?
7 years?

They still are limited to 85 scholarships. What are they going to do, gray shirt almost an entire incoming class? A good chunk of those seniors might have to convert to walk ons if they want to stay. Only see this effecting a limited few.Their roster has 18 Seniors with six more walk-ons.
Two, CCU and VTDid they cancel two games or just one? I can't remember.
They lost two games. What about players who lost 4-5 games due to injury in programs all over the country? This is more about emotional posturing than any logical fairness.
Actually, maybe true. If our seniors who weren’t going into the draft got another year next season it would be a very large benefit for us. Linemen who are another year older make a big difference. If they beat us next year we can totally blame it on this!
