Virginia Tech

Why don't we begin with reasonable goals like the Music City Bowl or beating FSU for the first time since the 1970s? I'll even accept talk about a Gator Bowl, though it seems a little far fetched on September 29.

I think talk of making the ACCCG is still acceptable. VT has to lose, but that doesn't seem all that unreasonable considering how they are playing. Back to back games @BC and @FSU could be a midseason swoon for VT.

I will white-out that Sharpie and declare that you are as wrong as hell.
I'm with Joe Cake Eater. 11-1 with a win over UGA puts us in the BCS whether we make the ACCCG or not. We'll have great quality OOC wins, marquis NFL prospects, and vastly lead the nation in rushing with a new Hot Sh*t offense that everyone in the country is talking about.

Also, if we go 11-1 in our first year under PJ, expect to lose at least one offensive assistant coach to be an OC somewhere else.

If we can run the table, the amount of press we'll get from the College Gameday guys is going to go through the roof. They'll have whole segments dedicated to PJ and Tech, because of how unique what we're doing is.

If we lose to Georgia, then definitely no BCS. If we lose one more ACC game and beat Georgia, then it's iffy, depending on who we lost to and how highly Georgia was ranked at the time.

If we beat UGA I'll be so happy I won't give a crap what bowl game we go to or whether we go to one at all.

Second, on your last question, I dunno try Kansas and Wisconsin. That's where I'd start if was going to look it up.

Kansas is a bad example. Last year, they went to a BCS game, after losing to Missouri in the final game of the year. The MO-KS game decided who would play Oklahoma in the Big12 championship. MO played Ok (for the 2nd time) and lost to them (for the 2nd time). So despite MO being better than Kansas in the Big12 North, Kansas went to a BCS, while Missouri did not. (Missouri fan as well here--so yes, we got screwed again--this time by our archrival)
