I'm sitting here shaking my head after looking at the VPI forum where they are talking about how often Bud Foster will blitz....:laugher:

If only Foster were dumb enough to "blitz"....we'd have a field day popping some long runs.... :10:

I'm glad they're smart enough to design Bud Foster's gameplan for him. They should go out and harvest up def. coordinator positions nationwide.

I think a nice strong 10 to 12 man blitz would do just the trick. And by that, I mean we would take only 1 play to score every time we touched the ball.

corner and safety blitzing is not an unusual way to attempt to stop our type of offense. It forces you into quick passing often times. Miss. St. tried this and it did not work because their DB's could not cover one on one.

I only caught the Miss St game on the radio. You mean to tell me they were blitzing safeties during the game? In an attempt to get to who exactly?

you bring the lb(s) out to cover the qb and pitch and rush the safety into the hole to make up for the lost rusher. the D is now vulnerable to the quick slants and RB or TE drag across the middle or the post

For some reason, whenever I think of vippisue fans, this image pops in my head

VT, VMI, Duke & UVA are the only schools that I've had repeated bad experiences with their grads. Hell, even the Mutt grad could be taught to take out the trash.

There was a VT chick one time that wasn't half bad looking & fairy competent. I didn't know she wanted to jump my bones until the day she left. Should've chased her down in the parking lot & laid the wood on her, but we're not supposed to be nailing the contractors- I think it's tantamount to a gift worth over $50.

They weren't blitzing them so much as they were bringing them up in run support on every play, which allowed us to:

a) burn them deep, and
b) take advantage of the 10 yard cushion their corners were giving Bebe to throw the quick out

VT will undoubtedly have better corners than Miss St.

What happened with the VMI grad?

One dude's idea of leadership was running around ordering everyone to do all sorts of inane BS. Thought VMI was some kind of "West Point of the South" & he was the next coming of Patton (only a Navy version, of course). Figured the "Chain of Command" was a 1 way street. It was for him- early exit.

Second one was a double overweight history major chick the had the endurance of a new born & the intelligence of a Mutt. She was well-liked by the troops (a couple of them a bit too much- disgusting given her appearance, but I suppose they liked the hummers & the paycheck) & got repeatedly walked all over.

Third one couldn't wake up, had ADD & liked to dip his wick in random spots, not all female & some fixtures of different shapes/sizes. Some other the other Department Heads would get pissed when he violated their departments.

Fourth one made a good door stop, so we kept him around for ****s & giggles until we got close to theater & received orders to a ship that was decommissioning.

Other than that, VMI grads have been great.
