I wouldn't expect BC to sell many more than that. Pathetic. Then there's this note...

Only about 30,000 total tickets have been sold in Tampa for the game at 65,837 seat Raymond James Stadium.

Two blah teams means TV ratings will be through the floor also. What an embarrassment.

Should be a raucous atmosphere similar to last year's game...

This game needs to be moved to one of the bigger AAAAA high school stadiums in Tampa --stands would at least be filled up.

I'm pretty sure Alexander High School in Douglasville would be willing to take the ACC Championship Game. Might even be able to convince some students there to come to the game and we could be looking at a near sellout.

I still don't understand why they put it in Tampa. Florida State and Miami travel relatively well, so they should stick it somewhere in the Carolinas so that it is central to all the teams in the ACC and the two traveling teams from Florida will still make the trip to see the game if there team is in it, no matter where it is.

The best spot would be the Georgia Dome to get people in (cheap flights, people travel there for a weekend, etc.) It would probably sell out every year....but we all know why its not there.

As much as I hate to say it...the crummy town of Charlotte with potential of a cold, rainy game may be best.

I'm going to call you on Miami traveling well. They don't. There's a reason that the Emerald Bowl really wants them...

The ACC made a very big mistake from the beginning of the expansion when they assumed that both FSU and Miami would be the premier teams in the league. Maybe they figure sticking the game in Tampa will coax one of those two teams into turning themselves into something. Obviously, Patrix Nix didn't get the memo. The ACC's main issue is that the league is too spread out in terms of geography, and the best option for a championship venue is already taken. We're going to continue to get poor showings at the game, unless they do something unique, like give home field advantages to the team with the best record. The morons in the SEC can deride the lack of turnout all they want, but since most ACC fans have things like jobs, they can't simply crawl out of the swamp and ooze into the "big city" for a vacation and a game.

OK yeah, Miami may not travel all that well, but they do travel better than BC and some other teams in the ACC.

I love that last comment you made about supporters of ACC schools actually having jobs ... LOL!!

No one wants to go to Tampa...

Unfortunately for the ACC, Atlanta is indeed the best location, but taken. With Atlanta being a major airline hub, a big city, and relatively centrally located for the ACC, it would have been an ideal location.

The only solution now is to have it in Charlotte, which at least is 'ACC country' and would be supported by the local crowd.

Why in the world did they decide Tampa after seeing the huge flop Jacksonville was?

These numbers are misleading. This tickets sold through the schools at full boat prices. People are smart enough to know by now that you can get tickets for $5 on game day.

I'm not saying the stadium will be close to full, but its going to be better than 3,000 Hokie fans.

Swofford has really screwed us all.

Tampa Bay?

Didn't he already learn his lesson from the ACC basketball tournament we held down there?

Hell, we've got, BY-FAR, the best basketball conference in the nation and we couldn't even sell THAT out down there!

Swofford is the dumbest sumbitch on planet earth.

I truly believe he should be investigated for fraud. There's no way he thought this could have been a good idea w/out taking some cash under the table.

hold the ACC title in the dome a week after the SEC game or move the ACC schedule up a week and hold it a week before.

Atlanta is the only solution. Charlotte won't be a solution it will be the same problem.

Flights are super cheap into atlanta, and its central enough for everyone to drive to, and its indoors.

Charlotte is cold and/or colder, outdoors, smaller city/airport....but on the positive it has the easy to drive to working for it....

Thanksgiving weekend in Atlanta for the ACC Championship would sell out.

However...we would have to give up a bye week to move everything up.

Not to mention that it means we'll need to move our game with the mutts.

Eric Zero made a comment on air right after the Dog game that he couldn't wait to the the small crowd that would show for our champ game and how ridiculous it would look in that huge stadium--typical dog crap but on OUR radio sta.--such comments have been the norm there lately!!

Someone should ask him if the Dawgs are planning a Blackout for the SEC title game.

I think they should rotate it every 2 years between Tampa, Jaxville, Charlotte, DC (dont want to hear it about weather, Big12 plays in KC). After 8 years...evaluate which city/cities did best and reward future games there. I wish Charleston had a stadium/airport that could handle it...it would be a perfect weekend getaway town because the partying/golf is great.

Move it to Charlotte and be done with it. Except for BC, Maryland and Miami, any other school in the ACC would travel pretty well to Charlotte. I know VPI would fill the game up this year.
