1. We had a 12 game homecoming win streak ended last year by UVA. CPJ has yet to win a homecoming game at GT. Here is his chance.

2. This game could decide the Coastal Division Champion.

3. Our team set a goal to win all home games. This game will likely be what makes or breaks that goal.

4. We lost to VT last year. So far, CPJ has beaten one of the teams we lost to last year, UNC. Will he be able to to do it against VT?

5. This is our first home game since UNC. I'm sure out guys are really looking forward to it.

Feel free to add more story lines.

Tyrod Taylor vs Josh Nesbitt

Two different playing styles, but two players who lead their teams to victory

What will VT scheme to take away and how will CPJ counter? Will we come out passing like Miss St. or just go back to basics and run it right down their throats? I can wait to see what he decides to do.

We did great at high-profile home games last year against Fl. State and Miami. Bobby Dodd will be rocking and noisy like those games this saturday and hopefully the defense will be inspired by that, because that's what's going to decide the game.

With respect to the division race, this is a single elimination playoff situation for us. We have to win out to have a chance. I thought before the season we would avenge all three of our regular season losses from last year. Still feel that way. And I still feel VPI is vastly over-hyped. Last year they won five games by five points or less. They win, undeniable. But they were not far away from being 6-6. This year they used up every bit of their mojo in that win against Nebraska. I think we are a superior team compared to Nebraska and we will be at home. I think our defense will be able to stop VPI 50% of their possessions and we will score on 75 % of our possessions. If we get any breaks at all, minimize turnovers and special team breakdowns we will win comfortably.

special team breakdowns
This is what is worrying me. Our defense can be put in those bad situations after a 30+ yards kickoff returns. We have to get better on special teams. I hope we are practicing our punt/FG protection as well. VT always seems to get a key block that turns the game in their favor.

This is how I'm seeing it play out to be:

AMAZING Georgia Tech's offense vs. STRONG VPI defense
Decent VT offense vs Questionable GT defense

I think with the game being at home, and a Homecoming game itself, will help us a bit. Everyone remembers the Miami game last year, but this time I honestly think that VT is as good as their ranking...

IMO, Foster will emphasize limiting Josh's midline daggers, which may/should open up the pitch game, ala Allen's big run last night. Jones may light em up too on a few pitches.

I have fall break this week and UT has a bye week so I'll be coming down for the game, where does most everyone tailgate (all the games I've been to in the past I just ate the homecoming food with alumni since my father went to Tech).
Thanks in advance
