Just saw on another GT message board that VT's Darren Evans tore his ACL today in practice and will be out for the season. It is confirmed on VT's message boards and the news circuits. I hate to hear that even though it is VT. One would have to think this is gonna make things a lot harder for the Hokies.

Also makes you hope that we can keep everyone healthy through practice and the season.:fingersx:

Yikes. That sucks for him. Hope he can recover fully.

Sort of sucks for us too cause now when we beat VPI, their fans will just use that as an excuse.

I hate it hate it hate it when college kids get hurt. Best of luck to him.

Tough news for them, but this kicks the door wide open for us to dethrone them.

Rough news for the kid. I wish him a speedy recover.

Is this a bad thread to say "The Hokies can go to hell" ?

If so, I won't say it.

Man, I wish it happened the day after the Alabama game. Yes, I do feel bad for the guy.

Tis the story of college football, maybe even all sports.
The same thing is possible to happen to Dwyer, its the way of the world.

That being said it does indeed make this much harder for VT to have an offense.

Tough, tough break for the kid. Hope he rehabs quickly and comes back well.

wow we might've just recieved the best chance to win the ACC coastal, but this def. doesn't make it as sweet.

good luck D.E.

Tough news for VT. I wish Evans a speedy recovery. I also wish they were 100% when we play them, because you know this will be their #1 excuse when we beat the tar out of them at BDS@HGF on 10/17.

Holy crap, that sucks... Wishing him a speedy recovery... I'm sure Ryan 'Norris' Williams will be happy to carry the load for them. At least that's what I'm sure the 'tards on ESPN's ACC blog will say.

Who cares if they don't admit we beat them fully. They can do and say whatever they want while their team sits home a week after they play UVA and we can rock it in Tampa.

I agree with you. It's just more satisfying when the other team *has* to acknowledge that you're better than they are without any conditional statements.

VPISU fans apparently drink from the same water supply as UGA fans, because they'd never admit to anything.

VPISU is going to get slayed against Bama.

The 'tards have already started to sound like UGA fans with the whole, "we'll be fine if not better without him".

You can't tell me that Wilson hasn't missed out on first string reps since VT until yesterday was counting on DE. Same for Williams.

IMO, Wilson and Williams are small quick backs without any ability to run up the middle with out getting the shalack beat out of them. Something like Marcus Wright running a b-back dive. He would get murdered. VT running game may have just gotten one dimensional because of this.

There goes there chances of beating Bama. Now the ACC is going to hear it.

Get well soon DE.

RB is probably the easiest skill position to replace. If you have a good o-line and a good scheme, all you need to do is plug in a fast runner with the ball.

I.E. PJ's offense.

This is some excellent news. Who cares if we beat them while they're down. I will take every advantage we can get of them considering they are our top contenders.

I don't see this significantly effecting the outcome of our game with them, but do see it significantly effecting the outcome of their opener vs Bama, which is pretty lame.

I think this will move us up in the talk about the front runner for the ACC. We have been considered the number 2 by most prognosticators and Evans injury will move us up to at least equal to VT in most peoples minds.
