Was it me or did Coach Gailey look like...

Cycle I do think many are fed up, but I dont this this year is when those feelings started ... I think they started while GOL was still coaching at Tech... I think most felt that we had hit a ceiling under GOL... there were a number of boosters who were fed up with him... dont get me wrong, I was one of those who gave GOL strong support.. I didnt want him to leave last year... but he chose to leave... I support Gailey today...

The expectations are high for Gailey.. and I think the good thing that will come from this loss to UGA is that Clough, Braine, and Gailey will get a good feel for just how high those expectations are... but in order for them to do so, it takes us communicating with them... I enjoy posting on this board, but realize that if I truly want to TRY and help, I need to communicate with them directly, in a professional manner.. .just as you would with anyone... if I really care about Tech, then I feel as if its my duty to try and cause positive action... whatever that may be.

Personally, I dont think we have done very well at reaching out to the Tech community.. we did a terrible job when GOL was here and we didnt improve this year... I think we need stronger leadership from Gailey, Braine, and Clough ... but I also think we should give Gailey the chance to do it... one year isnt it... if recruiting doesnt go as hoped this year, and if we slip in the W/L next year... then I would vote for a change.. but not today..

Like I said, I was going out on a limb with the face thing and trust me Cokers dorky mug kept popping up in my eyeballs when I was typing away. But the face Gailey presented after halftime should give cause for concern. I'm surprised Jill didn't offer CG a hanky and a pacifier.

7-5 isn't bad by any stretch especially given the injuries and the lack of talent at QB. Nevertheless, I would be concerned about the long term viability of Gailey's tenure at Tech. Personally, I don't think he has it. He reminds me of the current head coach of Dallas.

Personally, I think Gordon Clapp ("NYPD Blue") and Head Hoo Al Groh are the same person. ;-)

DB, could you elaborate further on the pacifier from Jill aspect of your post?

I would take a 51-7 pasting once a week for that.

Maybe Jabba's available to coach us in '03. I hear he's great with interior linemen.

Bobby Ross was in tears and apologized to Tech fans after the Duke game in 1987. Three years later he won a National Championship. I think you putting too much emphasis on an interview.

that '90s "leadership" fad now seems to ring pretty hollow to me. Those guys would blow smoke up your ass to get you to jump off tall buildings for them and call it good leadership.

Now corporate America is mired in a total integrity meltdown brought on by most of these inspirational leaders who rationalized cooking the books to justify their extravagant stock options and incentives...

In business and in football, I still think its more about blocking and tackling than whether the talking head has a pretty face or not.
