Watched UGA/UK Replay: Dawgs are tough

They simply have more, better players than we do. But if we can continue to recruit like we have in the past couple of years we can certainly be more competitive than have been in the past. I doubt we can ever stock up on talent like they do but we can get enough talent with the right coaching to make things much more interesting than in the past. GT has what it takes. We just need to have the right people in place to make it happen. And Dave Braine wasn't one of them. He may have set this program back as far as it was before Homer Rice came around. Whatever happens soon, I hope DRad makes the recruiting coordinator an offer he can't refuse.

Yep!!! Recruiting is very imporant, but there are teams that always seem to be tough to handle although they don't have top classes every year..It makes a coaches job much eaiser if he has those recruits, but I'm a strong beeliver that a good coach can turn 2* and 3* guys into 4* and 5* players. We will NEVER be able to recruit year in and year out with uga, its just not going to happen.....But we can upgrade the man that walks the sideline, and see if we can't make this thing a rivalry again

Believe me, its EASIER to upgrade the talent on the field than it is to upgrade the man who walks the sideline.

I'm sorry, but that's a crazy stupid statement.I'm no Braine apologist, but under Braine we played in the NC game in basketball, never had a losing season in football and competed at the highest levels in many of the minor sports.

Before Rice we were not competetive, period.
In fact, there was serious consideration to dropping down to Div 2.

Braine may not have been the greatest, but he was nowhere near that bad.

Just my opinion based on conversation and observation, but Braine crawled under his coffee table in a nekkid fetal position after the discovery of the ineligibilities.

In the hey day of O'Leary, Hamilton and Goose he was a very cocky guy. One of his critical football related mistakes was undervaluing the importance of Fridge..so I hear.

I don't think so....They really go hand in hand actually, because the the right man walking the sideline will upgrade the the talent on the field as soon as he arrives, with coaching and recruiting. What good is better talent on the field if its not being coached

Get back to the Dawgvent you patronizing, duplicitous, nad-licking, turd munching cur. So this could be our year? Because you uttered it? Puhleeeeeeze. BMB.

My favorite verse. But I doubt God cares that much about the outcome of this game. He's way more focused on things like the Kentucky Derby and the Breeders' Cup.

Correct--there have been but a handful of "upsets" in this entire series. The cliche is :throw the records out the window when Tech and Jawjah tee it up---but the facts are that the better team almost always wins. Now, it is also a fact that the underdog frequently makes a closer game of it than expected--but an outright win by an underdog has been rare. My favorite being our 6-0 victory in 1969. Who can name some others?

Bull-freakin'-****! They do not have better players. We have dog**** for coaching. Period. Georgia has improved a great deal since August. We have dropped from #15 in Sept.(tenth in some preseason polls) to #41 today. Quit buying the conventional wisdom that we just can't compete. We have four GD national champions ships and have won 9 or ten games three times in the last 8 years. WE CAN COMPETE. We just don't have even an aveage coach right now.

Well, youkonwreck, our starters are probably the equal of the curs, but if you think our string of top 50 recruiting classes equal their string of top 5 recruiting classes....such a thought process might give one reason to question your judgement, if not your grasp on reality.
