We are apparently miserable

I'm wondering if they know exactly who Tech's rival actual is.

Also, you'd think when they look at their results and see Clemson below FSU, you'd think they'd go back and realize they're idiots.

It's just wrong. It's almost inconceivable he'd be fired after this season unless we went 0-12 and got blown out by Georgia. And maybe, what, 5% of Tech fans want him gone currently? That's more stability than probably 90% of schools.

I don't get why he keeps ranking high on coaching hot seat lists. I think it's wishful thinking by opposing teams

My theory is that CPJ has been at GT for so long that everyone just assumes he'll be fired soon and thus the hot seat narrative.

Also, I think the percentage of fans that want a new coach is much higher than 5%, maybe more like 20% (I'm just guessing, but 5% has to be too low. I'll bet there are 5% of 'Bama fans that want a new coach for who knows why reason). There was one GT forum - I've forgotten the name of it now - that was pretty anti-CPJ. I think the anti-CPJ crowd has quieted down a little bit recently. Probably in part due to 2014 and 2 recent wins against the mutts and in part to realizing that if CPJ can survive 3-9, then he'll be here until he chooses leave.

"Happiness" of a fanbase is an interesting metric to try to assess, but kind of meaningless as a science because it would be so much easier to just poll the fans and find out for real. Too many variables go into fan happiness - look at UGA and UT fans who both lost to their rivals and hated life in December, then signing day hit with highly ranked classes and happiness improves, then preseason polls come out with overhyped rankings and happiness improves again.

Or Tech who was riding about as high as we have been in 25 years in 2014, were generally frustrated but not irate in 2015 despite losing 9 damn games, and back to happy by the end of 2016.

Might as well just do a fan survey.
