Well, we\'re up to 10 commitments for next yr
that have publicly declared for GT. 5 of these 10 commits are from Ga, so we are certainly doing better here. MasterB says we also have 2 silent commits. 12/10 & 12/19 will be big recruiting weekends for Tech. We are going after the kids much earlier than the past 2 yrs. This should bode much better for GT, as the later visiters are the ones who want to take all 5 visits & have lots of offers, so GT doesn't get but 1 or 2 of these.
This is not the kind of class to knock the socks off recruiting followers, but it is solid. We haven't loaded up at any 1 position, except QB, where we've taken 2 of the kind that Coach G said he wouldn't be recruiting anymore. There appears to be a reason for this; 1)Reggie Ball may be keeping the scramblers away 2)We need some QBs for camp 3)Taylor Bennett will come in Winter semester & go through Spring training, counting against last yrs class. We sure needed another QB for Spring.
The best of the group appears to be LB Travis Chambers & S Eric Williams. OLB Guyton is surely big enough/fast enough & will grow. CB Jamal Lewis has heigth/speed. ILB Jason Guadagni could be good inside. FB Mike Cox is immensely strong & may go to DT at some time. Lonowski is a big OL & we need OL. K Cismesia can also punt (clap,clap) & could push our K Jordan.
