I personally don't think giving Wells a scholarship was worth it. He had a great performance this year, but it's not like he is going to transfer. I would rather have used that on a position player. I hope I eat crow and he crushes it this year, but I just think he isn't worth it and that there were better uses of a scholly.

I also assume King is no longer playing or is transferring. It would be bad roster management to have 3 specialists on scholarship.
I am surprised with the move, but fine with it. CGC must be very comfortable with the numbers. Consider, too, that Wells is very popular with his teammates. Not a bad idea to do a good will gesture at a time a bunch of guys are leaving.

He just needs to be kicking it out of the endzone on kickoffs or we need a PWO to come aboard with a big leg to just boot kickoffs out the back of the endzone. We beat USF last season if we can kick out the back of the endzone (or had non ööööty coverage)

Maybe he is kicking it out of the endzone now. Seems like Butker's touchbacks went up his sophomore year. We also have Cliff Gandis, a walkon. I can't imagine King stays.

I don't seem him getting a scholarship anywhere as a transfer. Why would he walk away from the full ride?
Not sure on this one either but I can't see us having 2 scholly kickers when we are already behind the 8 ball regarding numbers.

To actually play and to retain a chance to kick professionally. I would rather he stay to ensure we are not in a ditch if Wells is injured.

Didn't someone post he was sick of football like 6 months ago? I could be wrong, but seems like I remember it.
