Coach Ralph Friedgen had the best offensive scheme I have seen at Tech. He ran a balanced offensive attack that could score against the best defenses in college football. I remember in '99 the Jackets lost in a shootout against FSU in Tally. After the game, FSU's defensive player's were quoted referring to Ralph Friedgen as "Mr. Friedgen"! Too bad he is 71 year's old now. However, it's still tempting to offer him the head coaching position. I doubt he has forgotten how to develop a game plan to fool the opponents defense. Coach Friedgen was great at developing quarterbacks, as well.
And by the way, he did very well at Maryland (as their head coach). The first three year's he was at Maryland they went 10-2, 11-3, and 10-3. The last year he coached at Maryland his team went 9-4 and the nuckleheads at Maryland fired him! Because of that he actually said he was going to burn his University of Maryland degree and continue rooting for Georgia Tech. Coach Friedgen is a large reason why Tech won the National title in 1990.
