What do the gold seats in the lower east mean and why are they always empty?

Club level -- there is an air-conditioned interior room that has libations (is what I have been told), so many of the CL people are in there watching the game.
 
The key is not only the libations, but also that:

(1) A certain amount of libations come free with the tickets (don't lie; you'd get up for that); and

(2) said libations must (in theory anyway) be consumed in the club.
If they would let those folks drink in the seats, we would see an increased ass-to-seat ratio for sure.

I guess the NCAA won't allow that??

Right about the NCAA rule on alcohol in the stands. Plus, there is big screens and couches and such. Nice set up, really. So I hear.
