What do you gentlemen think?

haywire, I like the Triple Option O always have but there is to much speed in the BCS to use it the way PJ does.
The real problem in the BCS is selling the high profile QB's and WR's they don't want to play in that style of O, most prefer a NFL style offense.
Ther's a reason nobody uses it other than 1aa and HS.

Honestly, this is the only argument that I can think of and agree with against Paul Johnson. I also don't know think he'd be able to recruit top QBs and WRs if they would not be learning a pro style offense in his system. But, I didn't think about that last night as I was mulling over future coaching possibilities. Thanks RR.

Haywire, gotta agree wid ya on Paul Johnson. I think he would adapt his personnel to what he would have here on The Flats.

I think to many people underestimate him because of the offense he runs, but it does work in most cases.

I was asking to see what others heard as to why Paul Johnson is left out of interviews at major schools....ACC and SEC schools.

Not to be mean...but I hear that when you talk to him he seems to not be that bright...kind of simple.

I have never met him although some friends of mine that were with him at GSU like him and speak very well of him.

exactly...I agree....everyone says he is super guy. They just say he lacks "big organization" savvy...understand all of the moving pieces financially, legally, educationally, and athletically. He does not answer questions about those things very well. They say talking to him is like talking to a great high school coach.

hivered, do you think some of the BCS schools are afraid of his O philosophy? There has to be a reason why the BCS schools are not courting him he's been to sucessful to ignore.

One other thing what about Bobby Johnson at Vandy?

Probably needs to do more at Vandy first....but that will be almost impossible. Kind of like Duke...Ted Roof went into a dead-end job...unless you are Steve Spurrier. Spurrier is one of about 2 or 3 college coaches that can win anywhere they go. heck..there are only about 3 or 4 NFL coaches that will win anywhere they go.

"kind of simple"....uh might wanna think about that particular quality for a moment!

Paul Johnson won't be GT's next coach, or at least it's very unlikely.

I couldn't beleive it myself, but PJ is paid 1.5 mil. a year at Navy. I guess not having to pay any scholarships has freed up a lot of money at Navy's AA.

I hear that the US Government has pretty deep pockets. Not like Alabama, but pretty deep.
