I think it will bode better in the long run. Almost ALL of the players who have flunked out or had grade issues the last few years have been below the 950 line anyway. It probably will help our turnover/graduation rate, and our overall reputation as providing the best of both worlds, athletically and academically. That is the product we are selling folks, is it not? Why are we worried about being UGA? If you go look at the Hive recruiting database at our recruiting classes 99-02, you will find that most of our key players would have met the 950 requirement anyway. A few would have been borderline and probably have been admitted as exceptions. The only place I see this hurts us recruiting wise is in areas in the rural South and in inner cities where kids have lower SATs because, quite frankly, the school system has barely attempted to educate them since kindergarten.
