The thing is that they weren't hitting JT. They were childishly swiping at the ball, something that happens all the time.FWIW, CPJ wasn't too upset with Errin Joe about it in the post game comments. He said he thought it should have been offsetting penalties because they kept going at Justin while he was on the ground and Joe was just defending his QB.
If Joe had just come in and grabbed the guy, or given a controlled push, it would have been fine. The problem is he came in and actually hit the guy. You can't do that...maybe it's not fair, but I don't think there's any refs for which that wouldn't be fifteen yards.
