What makes you angrier?

a) That Ugag beats us on a consistent basis
b) That Ugag has St. Richt who has elevated their program
c) That Ugag doesn't respect us

For me, its "c". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

or ..

d) GT fans who pretend we shouldn't talk about our biggest rival especially after losing.

Never said we shouldn't talk about them, but why would you care what they think about us? Also why would you care how good they think Richt is?

One that isn't listed bothers me, but it shouldn't:

The fact that every year uga fans think that they should beat people just because of the Green Bay "G" on their helmet.
The preseason polls always have uga somewhere near the top 10. Because they play no one, they move up in the polls and the ugag fans believe they are actually a great football team. They lose consecutively to UF and AU, and they still are at 13.
We have our chance to shut them up, but we can't get it done.

Regardless, uga fans will have you believe that they are in the title picture every year even though they are only a better than average team.
It irritates me no end that they are as delusional as they are.

If Tech folks respected uga football the way their fans see Tech, a 19-13 and 14-7 win by Tech would have made us furious that we did not blow them out.

Or is it that uga people just know how to get under our skin? I think thats it.

I think you nailed it... they just know how to get under our skin. As for the polls, their fans are not the voters..so no control over where they end up each year. Respect for the conference nationally, I guess? ACC respect is there with Miami and VT added...and that is why we remain in the top 25 at 24 even with 4 losses. ncjacket - like, loathe, or love Richt, he has done a good job while at Ugag. We should be so lucky to have the same success with our coach.

For me the answer has to be: A

UGA beats GT on a consistent basis (since I have been alive, GT is 11-29 in the series). I know that current students, alum and longtime GT fans hate to lose to them. As a UGA alum, but lifelong GT fan, I can't stand losing to the alma mater. For me, there is not a better feeling in sports than a GT victory over UGA in football.

Now I will say being at the Citrus Bowl Jan. 1st 1991 was an incredible feeling, bettered by the UPI poll coming out and proclaiming GT National Champions. This ranks as my most memorable sports moment (I actually have a list).

Final Four runs in 2004 and 1990, the ACC championship in 1985 are all pretty special as well, as were the Braves in 82, 91, 92 and 95 and Falcons in 80 and 98.

Still, 16-7, 35-18, 20-16, 33-22, 40-23, 21-19, 51-48 and 27-15 (I don't really remember '69-'70 & '74) can't be topped.

As for B, I have nothing against Mark Richt.
C, I just want GT to have a consistent winning football program. This would include a few more victories against the dawgs. I think respect would come by defeating them a little more consistently.

Here we go again...Another set of long post surrounding the successes of UGA. It appears to me that many of your are obsessed with the successes of UGA. Look back and on nearly every post for the last 6 months there is discussion about them. Yes, we did just complete another game that we ended up on the wrong side of the win-loss column butMove on! Envy doesn't flatter you! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bash.gif

Well I'd like to win or lose with honor. UGA fans do get under SOME Tech fans skin. I prefer to just look at it as very poor sportsmanship, so they don't bother me like they did when I was younger. Of course, it also helps when one learns to not measure their life on a sporting event that they have no control over. Now if I were to ever (personally) lose to 20oz Bulldog at golf, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

As a Ga alumni I can tell you Leg Humper fans will never respect Tech, Never! What gets my goat is how we lose to them year after year and even if we won big deal 1 out of 5?!!?? I'll take beating a team 4 out of 5 times any day but we can't even do that, SUCKS!!!!

I want to totally turn it around on 'em. We go into the Ga game hoping to win and they go into the game vs us EXPECTING to win.

Bottom line, good teams find ways to win, average/below avg teams find ways/excuses to lose.

To Hell with Georgia!!!

What the uga folks do a great job at is pretending a loss to us doesn't matter, or they have bigger fish to fry, or something.
We Tech fans are always looking for compliments from uga.

Screw 'em. We need to win AccC games, and then beat the shat out of uga in a bowl game with a month to prepare. If played as game #1, or in a bowl game, we would be healthy and would beat the inbreds 75% of the time.

Regardless, uga fans will have you believe that they are in the title picture every year even though they are only a better than average team.

So what teams qualify as "good" or "great", assuming both good and great are better than "better than average"?

I laugh when people say C. UGA does respect us. If you don;t think UGA fans are scared to play us then you're nuts. I have a gazillion UGA friends and many are season ticket holders. Not one of them was looking forward to our game this year or last year.

You are one of them too (delusional asswhool). Except that you enjoy peeking thru the windows of your neighbor.

UGA, in my non musical aprreciative ears has a very good to great band every year.
With the open enrollment policy of M Adams and puppet D Evans, uga should have a great football team every year, but they don't.
Seriously, how does Tech even stay on the field with uga, considering the competitive advantages.

Before you say it, Hell yes I am bitter as hell, but its mainly because uga and Ga. Tech only pretend to play a game on a level field.
What I would be asking myself if it were possible for me to be a dog fan is...Why aren't we better?... Georgia has to contend with nothing as far as interference to football greatness, nothing. Yet, uga has only won it once, and that was 25 years ago.

A few weeks ago I asked on here what program (Tech or uga) has met or exceeded expectations. What do you think?

What you thought was so hilarious was my point that Tech would beat uga 7-8 times out of 10, if both teams were at full strength. Was your laugh a nervous one?
We will probably never see the game moved to the front end, but wouldn't it be great for uga to have a shot in a bowl game to get some pay back?

Since that probably won't occur, would you have any problem if uga actually followed the academic rules and guidelines put in place already by the ncaa, and your school?
If that would suddenly happen, how often would the mighty bulldogs beat little ol Tech?

You make some great points.

What is UGA's record against Auburn, LSU, UF, and Tennessee? Which one of these teams has the easiest recruiting road?

UF - splits players with FSU and Miami from what I have seen. Fla has about 1.5 times the people of GA IIRC.
Auburn - #2 school in a state with far less people.
Tennessee - #1 school in a state with less people and less recognized football talent per person to boot.
LSU - #1 school in a state with less people
GA - hand picks the top players in a state in the top 5 for NFL players. Also top 5 per capita if I recall.

Shouldn't UGA be winning the majority of the time against all of these teams and nearly all the time against the others?

Cheating is bad, real bad. But,..if you decide that cheating is the way to go, shouldn't you win?

Nothing more comically sad and funny than a stupid crook.

Sorry sfalco, I won't name the individual because its not his fault, but that athlete/"student" personal website won't ever be forgotten the next time uga lies about academic requirements for its players. You should be ashamed of what your "college" president allows.
Even with this monumental sellout, M Adams has to be livid that uga can't win more than it does.

Re: You make some great points.

careful there cowboy...hard to call out another school about cheating when our very own just got brow beaten by the NCAA for two years. Let's not open that can of worms for them.

I'm thinking (a).
We can't change the past but I do know we are working hard to change the future of this.
As far as (b) goes, I'm glad he has elevated the fleas. When we beat them, we want to beat them at their best. (consistently too).
Now for (c): You better believe they respect us. They see the tide is turning for them vs us and I see it too. Go back and look at the scores over the last 3 yrs. Yes, they have beaten us, but we are gaining on them. Soon, we'll be the ones to pass, not them.
