what position on the team concerns you the most?

I'm sure many will agree when I say OL is my biggest concern. Dan Voss and fellow starter Nick Claytor have been out all spring. Nick had a serious surgery fixing a ruptured disk in his back. Then Cord Howard has missed a lot of time this spring due to a broken hand. A couple of the RS freshman have played decent in the spring. We really need some guys to step up if we want to have a good line this year. I know this may sound crazy but I do believe a true FR will crack the two deep and get some playing time this year. Thoughts?

I think the main thing about our O line is that injuries will force the line to have to mature a bit over the season. However, with so many of these new guys who've had little to no playing time getting reps we know that whoever are the starters are not there cause of lack of options.

Linebacker Linebacker Linebacker

That position has gone from worst to probably one of the best on the team. Sed and Brad has been working really well together this spring and looks, and i believe will be a dominant force this season. I think these two should be getting a little more love from us fans.

It has to be the OL. When 3 of your OL starters do not participate spring due to injury that will always be an issue.

I will also say Qb. Even though Nesbitt and Shaw have been doing well this spring, will they be able to add the pass dimension to the offense to take this team to the next level.

If the answer here is not Offensive Line, then you didn't pay attention last season. Linebacker is a distant second to the OLine. If we had even a mediocre OLine we could win 10 games.

Not so fast my friend...

You must have noticed the sieve our D became as the season progressed. The primary thing that changed was LBs. We had some to start the season, only a few by the middle, and just a few walking wounded survivors in the end.

And we have changed the scheme not the least of which IMHO is due to the lack of performance and depth at LB. Now of course coming in I would have said DT (DL) but early practice reports sound fine.

In conclusion, I will agree that OL is number one, mainly due to the number of injuries at that position now. But I think LB is a close second.

Think about this, we played almost all of last year with a line cobbled together of guys recruited for a different style and really only did we totally run out of servicable play in the UNC game. We should be at least a little deeper and also have more players with the raw ability skillset the offense really needs.
If we lose Sed and Brad I think the dropoff is more steep.

Waterboy. Without the proper hydration, our team will be sluggish and start to make mental mistakes.

Towel Boy: The sweat on the hands of the players could lead to turnovers.

Equipment Manager: If the player's name is spelled wrong, they may never get their jersey forcing them to go out naked. No one wants to see TJ Barnes naked.

Honestly I feel more comfortable about our Oline and linebackers than kicker. I agree with whoever said that. We would have beaten VT last year had we a better kicker. Our Oline has a year of experience, and we now have a backup center so VOSS doesn't have to play every down.

I'm not very concerned about our OL to be honest. It's obviously extremely important for our success this season, but I think that as a group the OL will show a lot of improvement with an entire offseason dedicated to learning the offense.

The LBs on the other hand concern me. Everyone says we have great depth there, but we don't. We have a bunch of "ok" players aside from Brad Jefferson who's good...The others are either unimpressive, mediocre, or unproven.

Our offensive line really couldn't get any worse than it was last year and we won 9 games last year.

I think it's our corners, like most years...

I submit that the answer is our special teams. Obviously that is not a "position" but, then again, OLine isn't really one either.

Our special teams problems make our OL problem look like our DL "problem."

I actually expect our OL to be better this year than last - not right away - but by game 4 or 5 or so. Not so sure I expect the same level of improvement in our special teams at any point during the season.

Ummm... Sedric Griffin was one of the better players on the D last year... But there is a lot of depth at LB each player is being cross trained to know all 3 positions.
I haven't heard many mentioned the Dbs. For a unit that gave up an avg of 32 the last half of the season should warrant some concern

Our offensive line was dominated by Gardner Webb last year. It has to be better.

QB. Josh is injury prone. He is most likely gonna miss a few games. We got lucky last year that the 3 games he missed were against 3 of our 4 weakest opponents. I am not confident that Jaybo, Tevin, or one of the freshman could play the entire game versus a VT or FSU and lead us to victory. I think Jaybo is a great backup to have, but he just lacks that "it" factor that Josh has.

It HAS to be OL. Regardless of what YOU think about what the OL will do, if you watched any game last year our pass blocking was horrid and has to improve if we want to win 10 +. Special teams is second as evident by the Peach Bowl.

I'm not as concerned as many of you about the OL. They started to "get it" toward the end of last season.

The LSU game was a special teams nightmare.

So....my worries are two-fold:

1. D-Line - particularly depth-wise.
2. All-around ST's play.

Our CB's are going to be very good this year, maybe the best we've had in a long time. Our linebackers are where we get hammered the most.

But generally the games we lost were due to an inability to handle a stout defensive line. So I have to say it's our OL that is the biggest question. On top of that, we've had too many injuries at OL recently, further making it clear where our concerns are.
