What songs do we play when..

A few years back they'd play Hey Ya by Outkast. Also, I know I've heard She Blinded Me with Science.

i have always wanted them to do "waiting room" by Fugazi. i cant link it from work (YouTube is blocked) but there is a clip of a marching band playing it, and it rocks!

We also play the following before kickoff/during introductions

Also, does anyone have the F-Tuning thing that we play on defensive 3rd and 4th downs in MP3 form? My GameDay CD doesn't have it.

Hooray! I can be useful!

As far as offense goes, there's really not many different things we play. While we mostly play when we get a new set of downs, we've also played just for the fact that it was a pretty good play. Anyways, offense will see us play one of the following:

1. An abbreviated version of "White and Gold" (starts at "We'll drop the battle axe...")
2. An abbreviated version of "Ramblin' Wreck" (last verse)
3. Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" (although this song has had a good run, it's time to take it out back and put it down...)
4. Ludacris' "Move B****" (usually following a bruising run)
5. AC-DC's "Thuderstruck" (I've heard people outside the band say it's not the greatest arrangement. I don't listen to AC-DC, so I can't comment on that)
6. Zombie Nation's "Kernkraft 400" (This was temporarily replaced by Thunderstruck, but after the band bitching and the crowd not really responding to Thunderstruck, it was brought back towards the end of last season)

Defense is more scripted as far as what we play and when.

1st or 2nd Down: Either Alice Cooper's "School's Out" (the actual "Schoooool's out for summer part repeated for as long as we have time to play) or 2-unlimited's "Twilight Zone" as JoltinJacket pointed out. (Yes, we in the band refer to it as "Mortal Kombat"

3rd Down as I'm sure everyone knows is for F-tuning, or what we call "Chords". If I need to explain this to you then :ugh:

When we get a stop on 3rd Down, we usually play either an abbreviated fight song or Pre-game Fanfare. 4th Down is almost always Pre-game. A missed field goal by the opponent usually equals a fight song or Pre-game (or more likely Pre-game followed by a full fight song)

For any penalty, we don't play anything so as to not accidentally play over the referee. However, if you're close enough to the band, you might hear the classic (and at times, overused) "You can't do that...THAT'S CHEATING!!! As far as timeouts, last year, we were very neutered in what we could do thanks to the new marketing efforts. However, when we could we would play one of our full songs. This includes before and after kickoffs.

As far as some of the specific songs mentioned in the thread: Thriller, (She Blinded Me With) Science, and Hey Ya (although we don't play it anymore) are only for basketball season. Carry On and Fire are played for basketball and football season.

33, we haven't played Carmina outside of the staircase for at least the last two years with maybe two or three exceptions...And I'll see if I can get a recording of us playing "Chords" for third down or otherwise for the person who was looking for it. I hope that covers everything you guys wanted to know.

No problem. Like I said, I'm glad I was actually the guy with the inside info

That is not the same as Tech plays if only because the musicians are 100 times better (BD is awesome), but I don't think the composition is quite the same either.
