That video is obviously part of a larger segment...

Also, how is it a conspiracy? For starters, the AP isn't part of the BCS. Secondly, there are legitimate questions about BC's schedule, as well as OSU's. For both of them, their best wins may come against 3-loss teams.

I personally think LSU is probably the best team in the country. But there's a lot of football left. We'll see what happens.

But he didn't mention OSU, did he? He only mentioned BC. I can't remember any recent time where ESPN singled out a team and asked people if that team was impeding the BCS's progress.

I know the AP is not part of the BCS. That was just proof that major contributers to ESPN's college gameday department don't think BC is number two.

People think LSU is the best team in the country because of ONE win (VPI), the fact they are in the SEC, and an excessive amount of hyperbole on ESPN's part. Their close UF win is looking less and less impressive now.

You can't say LSU is better than BC because LSU beat VPI by 38 points and BC beat them by 4. Why? Because they played in entirely different game situations. BC went to VPI to play at one of the toughest venues in sports. VPI went to LSU to play at THE toughest venue in sports. Not only that, but I believe VPI has improved since then and coaches have figured out ways to beat LSU. Early season games are when you get the most blowouts (see Cal last year @ UT). Furthermore, BC, a passing team, had to play in the soaking rain in the worst conditions imaginable. LSU played in perfect weather in front of their home crowd. You could see at the end of the BC game when the rain was letting up how much better Ryan was. If that game was at BC in perfect weather I guarantee you that VPI loses by at least 20.

What's the problem? He says WTTE that several schools will have a claim that they should play for the MNC but BC looks to have the #2 spot locked up if the win out. That is true. An undefeated team obviously has the strongest argument and everything else is arguable.

Maybe all those folks who believe they should have a shot will start to pressure for a playoff if they don't like the matchup.

Listen closely. He says BC will go to the MNC because of the STRANGLEHOLD BC has on the #2 spot.

OSU is #1. There is no point in mentioning them because the debate is always who should be #2. The point of the piece is that BC has the inside track to win out. If BC loses, then another team with one loss is likely to rise over them.

I WANT some controversy over the BCS game. IMO, every conference champion should have a shot to play into the championship game.

This kinda pisses me off too. I hope LSU and BC play in the MNC, and BC stomps LSU into ground (highly unrealistic).

BC doesn't have a fanbase, so it would be a home-game for LSU practically.

Interesting to note Herbstreit, a former tOSU QB, does not mention Ohio State's "stranglehold" on the BCS. Except for their name and initial ranking, they really don't have much more to claim than BC.

If BC remains undefeated, they will have earned a spot in the BCS-C game. Their resume might not be BCS-C caliber RIGHT NOW, but their schedule is back loaded. If they finish it off and win the ACC-C game, then they've done plenty enough.

The only argument for a playoff system this year should come because a very poor Ohio State team is likely to waltz into the NCG. The Big Ten is pathetic this year and as usual they play nobody.

The joke will be on Herbie when OSU chokes against some crappy Big Ten team.

Or when they play an SEC team. TOSU hasn't won a game against the SEC in over 50 years.

If BC wins out and wins the ACCCG then they will be playing in the NCG. I think they would be playing LSU if LSU were to win out and win the SECCG. OSUs strength of schedule will really hurt them in the BCS rankings if both LSU and BC win out. LSU, imo, is the best team in the nation right now.
