What was our record in Ross's first year?...

Re: What was our record in Ross\'s first year?...

We may have had a lot of returning talent in general, but unfortunately we did not have anyone returning with meaningful (or recent) game experience at QB, HB or FB. And frankly, in our offense, the lack of an experienced QB makes it that much more difficult to have an efficient offense.

Given our injury situation (including those that happened during the game), IMO we did not have more talent on the field than MD did last night.

Except for BOB, wasn't the staff real late in arriving? Even tho BOB was here, was he not in limbo about the Vikings, etc. Many of the best coaches were already taken by the time CG got around to GT. Hopefully, he will shake things up at least by next yr. - the sooner the better.

Strength/conditioning coach should also be a top priority. Our players are falling like flies.

I am very unhappy.

All that talent lost 5 games last year. You guys are delusional.

Bellyseries, I liked your definition of covering the waterfront. We do have a diverse array of opinions, thats for sure.

Re: What was our record in Ross\'s first year?...

FWIW, a little more record comparison:
Tech coaches since Dodd, first two years vs the remainder of their term at Tech.
(Fulcher & Lewis excluded)

Carson (yr 1 & 2) 8-12
(next 3 yrs) 19-15

Rodgers (yr 1 & 2) 13-9
(next 4 yrs) 21-22-2

Curry (yr 1 & 2) 2-19-1
(next 5 yrs) 29-24-3

Ross (yr 1 & 2) 5-17
(next 3 yrs) 26-9-1

O'Leary (yr 1 & 2) 11-11
(next 5 yrs) 42-19

Conclusion(?): Not sure, but it's hard to judge by the first 2 years. Rodgers was the only one to have a winning record over his first two years.

The combined first two years of all those coaches was 39-68-1 = .366; over their combined remaining yrs at Tech, 137-89-6, = .603. Maybe patience IS a virtue.....

Re: What was our record in Ross\'s first year?...

I don't give a flying fart what some of his ex-players are saying about him. And by the way, those quotes sounded way to politically correct for my taste. What I want to hear is what his current players are saying about him.

Re: What was our record in Ross\'s first year?...

Granted it's easy to understand why the injuries (almost an unprecedented amount) hurt us vs MD and helped make us look bad.

But unfortunately we have looked bad (relatively speaking) from the time toe first met leather this year, especially at QB.
