what was the best GT game you attended last year?

Mutts, probably the happiest sports related I've ever been. I was giddy.

FSU would be next.

F$U - immediately after the fumble, I ran to the car and made it over the Tabernacle to see The Hold Steady and The Drive-By Truckers. Great game, great show.

Damn! Wanted to go to that show too.
Stayed in the bar and drank like a whale.

Obviously the Georgia game comes first for all the clear reasons.

But the Florida State game was an experience I'll never forget. It was as electric as any Tech-FSU game that I've ever seen and watching the our boys celebrate recovering the fumble sent me from intolerable nervousness to pure ecstasy instantly.

The girl in front of me was clearly a former Florida State cheerleader and as arrogant as any Nole fan I've ever seen. Hearing her obnoxious screams fall silent and watching her move fluidly from jumping in the air to leaning down to grab her stuff and leave was the cherry on the cake.

Miami... I took a couple buddies with me that were Clemson fans and they were amazed at how well the option was working against Miami's athletic defenders. Before the game, they were talking about how they hoped it was a good game but Miami was probably going to win it.

During the game, I kept looking down at them and they were just standing there in utter shock. One of them asked if he could come to some more Tech games with me this year because he loved watching the OBS.

FSU by far. Was about to be heartbroken, then we get that miracle fumble and I rush the field.

All was right in the world.

My Miami story:

I was sitting with Stingtalk's JTS. There were two Miami fans in the row in front of us. We decided we'd start playing "Guess the Nix Playcall" based on Miami's formations, and were up around 80% accurate. The Miami fans in front of us were pretty disgusted.

We told them to lighten up, we had to deal with Nix a lot longer than they did.

"Third and 14, four wide. Draw play."
"No way, bubble screen."
"Yeah, you're right, totally bubble screen."
(Nix runs a bubble screen)
(we laugh)
(miami fans give us evil glares, we smile and shrug)

Definitely going to go with the FSU game. Was in the scond row of SWARM. Jumped that wall as soon as I could.

Any game where hundreds of students end up on the field at the end due to pure excitement is a good game.

Conveniently, I managed my sister and her BF into this game too, I'm pretty sure it was the best possible game to bring them to... I mean, if I got to rush the field the first time my sibling brought me into the student section...

Attended 3 games:

Jax State
Miami
Chik Fil A Bowl

Jax State was my favorite because I didn't black out.

From the first game against them as a conference foe in 1992, when sideline official Dan Post --a long-time friend of my dad's going back to their days at O'Keefe and, like my dad, a life-long GT fan-- blew that call at the end zone late in the game that literally cost GT the win (Post later admitted he blew it), through the 'almost's' of 1999-2003 --particularly the 13-0 4th quarter debacle in '03-- the win against FSU was certainly the most satisfying where I was in attendance.

In '92 I was listening to the game on the radio in the parking lot @ Fulton Co. Stadium, getting ready for game one of the World Series. Listening to what happened was bad, talking to my dad later, who watched the game, and him telling me it was a bad call was worse. But then, after attending an O'Keefe alum function and talking with Post himself, having my dad tell me that Post admitted he blew the call just made that loss all the more difficult to accept.

I learned this a few years ago: Don't drink so much you don't remember the game, it can ruin a great experience. just cut down a bit.

I used to drink tons of beer tailgating, and a full (big plastic) flask during the game, and 1/2 the time, i wouldn't remember the 2nd half. Not a good thing.

My tribulations with in-game intoxication manage to make their way onto network TV, so I've cut back quite a bit in recent years.

And recently I quit drinking entirely, as SWMBO just got laid off so now our family finances are upside down. Booze was an easy thing to agree to cut, even though we're both alcoholics.

Miami was one of the most enjoyable games in a long time, from start to finish.
