When do u guys think we'll know?

You won't do that though. I used to work for Delta and I know that if you go sniffing reservations you'll get canned.
Of course that never happens. But I can look out of the window and see where the private jets are parked.

Hatch will be a good pick. Why are some so weary of him?? Just take a look at Ohio State and Tressel.

Right now I have no opinion yet on Chris Hatcher (good or bad) but I don't think you can compare Hatcher to Tressel. Tressel was at Youngstown State from 1986 - 2000 and won 4 national championships at the I-AA level there in 91, 93, 94, and 97 and he took teams to the championship game at least 6 times that I can find (those 4 that he won and two others). During his tenure they went to the playoffs 10 times (and so if my numbers are correct he got them to the championship game 60% of the time they were in the playoffs).

Chris Hatcher hasn't accomplished anywhere near what Tressel had when Ohio State hired him. This is not to say Hatcher hasn't accomplished some terrific things in his young career, just that I don't think the comparison is quite valid yet. I'm also not suggesting Hatcher shouldn't be a candidate for our head coaching job so please don't take this as a knock on Hatcher.

On second thought, if you add in his time at Valdosta State the comparison to Tressel is a little stronger so while I don't agree that it is a similar situation perhaps its closer than I initially gave it credit for.

its not hatcher ....this is BS...trust me.

If chris gets the job....it happened way after this thread claimed he would get it. As of now...it's not him.

At Valdosta, Hatcher went to the playoffs 6 out of 7 years and went to 2 championship games. Pretty strong if you ask me.

Well, if it isn't Hatch, then I hope it isn't Muschamp.

It must be a bigger name that we're looking at.

As I said in the last couple of lines of my post, including his time at Valdosta State makes his resume more impressive. However, Valdosta State is Div II which to me is two steps removed from Div IA versus Youngstown State which was Div IAA which is only one step away. That's why I don't count the Valdosta State experience as heavily for Hatcher as I do the Youngstown State experience for Tressel.

But there's no doubt that his run at Valdosta State is extremely impressive.

If its between Muschamp, Hatcher, and Fisher, I just hope its not Fisher. For me, I just don't see that being a better hire than when Maryland inked Friedgen back in 2000. Muschamp brings a level of excitement that the other two don't. Hiring Hatcher is taking a very calculated gamble but obviously, this guy is going to be a great coach one day.

Curious as to what makes you think Muschamp would be more exciting? Hatcher is a good speaker and has a few years of producing exciting offensive football.

My negatives on Muschamp:

1) No head coaching experience
2) Prefer offensive mind
3) UGA background - not a problem for the most part, just think this could be potentially devisive.

Muschamp seems like he would be the riskiest hire. He is just as young as Hatcher with no HC experience and is a UGA alumni. If Rad hires him and he is not successful, Rad will get killed by the "NO DAWGS ALLOWED" posse not to mention the "FANATICS OF CHAN" posse that is just waiting for the first loss to pile on.

I agree with JTS, Muschamp is a riskier hire for DRad than Hatcher.

Hiring Muschamp is the biggest risk BY FAR...especially for D-Rad.

can you imagine how quickly this fanbase could turn their backs on a dawg? And they wouldn't just turn sour on Muschamp, demjackets boss would be in serious trouble, imo.

Never mind that Hatcher has some DIAA experience all of a sudden

It would be fun for Will to get it just to see the introductory presser:

Rad: It is with great privilege I introduce to you the 12th head football coach for Ga Tech. The man to carry the torch of Heisman & Dodd. Please help me with a warm Ga Tech welcome for..... Coach Willfred Muschamp.
